I've shopped at BestPrices.com many times. I keep coming back to them because they have terrific prices, most of the odd DVDs and tapes I'm interested in, FAIR shipping costs, and good customer service. A few months ago I received a package that looked like the Post Office had stomped on it a few times and run it over with a backhoe, twice. The DVD case inside was cracked-- certainly not in the condition I expected. I contacted BestPrices and they immediately sent out a replacement, the next day, trusting me to return the broken item as promised. I didn't expect that. I figured it would be a week for them to get my broken one and then a week for the delivery of a new one. Instead, I had the replacement in 3 days!
The Upside
Great prices, fair shipping, good customer service. Selection on Japanese Animes and movies from the UK is incredible! Even BETTER prices on some pre-orders. A very easy-to-use order status page that keeps me abreast of any open orders (orders with backordered items).
The Downside
Customer Service is no longer available by phone (however they do have an online chat feature that I don't like (personal preference), but I have to admit it is quick and easy). They respond to email within 24 hours (personal experience: 2 hours and 11 hours). The personal "order status" page can be confusing-- sometimes an item on backorder will show "pending shipment" for a day or two (resulting in BestPrices sending me a notification email), and then revert back to "backorder" status(resulting in a disappointing notification email). I understand why this happens (a small amount arrives at a warehouse, but not enough to fill all the backorders for the item), but it can be frustrating.
Overall
Problems are so few and the savings are so great that I have to give this online store a big thumbs up. One of my absolute favorite stores.
