I admit I've never seen Breaking Away. There are also some 1930's baseball movies that I missed that some would rank up there. I just never have been able to catch any station showing them. Actually I like the film, Rhubarb (about the cat owning the team). While the story line does sound corny, it was actually entertaining. As a youngster I loved the movie.

even though I love sports. Your domain of sports movie knowledge is impressive.

Only movie I'd like to put on such a list that I didn't see there was 'Breaking Away' which wasn't entirely about sports, though the main plot was tied around cycling. A really good movie. I'd have to think it better than the movie about a cat inheriting a baseball team. (just kidding)

Don't get me wrong, your list is comprehensive and very informative.

Believe it or not, I struggled with numbers 46-50. Something for Joey was in the group of about five that I was considering but left off. I did actually enjoy that film, and it is a great story.

I think in general you did a great job chosing movies. My favorite, It Happens Every Spring, is only 11th, but as long as you include it I'm happy :-)

The only movie that popped out at me right away as missing was Something for Joey, the story of John Cappalletti and his little brother Joey who has Leukemia.
