My company sent me a Motorola i550+ Nextel phone for work use, so I don't know what the plan costs, since the company pays for the service (phone, paging, and voice mail). The account did not include Nextel wireless web, but this is available.
The phone is heavy (I affectionaly call it a brick). Accessories are not readily available for it either. To get a carrying case, I had to order it from Nextel. The phone can be complex to use and the screen difficult to read.
The service it self is mediocre at best. If I go inside, usually the service cuts out, so I end up having to go outside to use it. This can be very inconvenient if I'm on a service call.
Paging can be difficult as well. Someone can go to the website and send a page, or you call a number, then the user puts in the number, and then several steps to send the message.
In general, the phone is bulky and difficult to use, the quality of service is mediocre, and can be difficult to use.
