Better Business Bureau is little protection from hpshopping.com (Reply to this comment)
by eprm
I had a MAJOR issue of hpshopping.com not delivering not one, not two, but THREE orders. I posted a review of the experience earlier, suffice it to say that hpshopping.com has demonstrated amazingly bad business judgement in their treatment of my attempted purchase.
Like you, I always thought the BBB logo that hpshopping.com proudly displays on their home page indicated some level of protection against (what was done to me by them).
Alas, I found out all too late that the "Better Business Bureau protection" is basically your assurance that the vendor has agreed to write you back within a certain amount of time- no obligation to even address the complaint. In my case, I received a completely off-topic 2 sentence response from some executive at Hewlett Packard (the alleged "parent company"- but further research indicates that hpshopping.com may just be a licensee of Hewlett-Packard).
hpshopping.com apparently has the rights to sell hp's products to consumers. BUT- you aren't stuck with them if you ABSOLUTELY must purchase a Hewlett-Packard product! They have a Small Business division that is apparently run with much more integrity than hpshopping.com: 800-888-9909 or http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/solutions/smb.html. They might not have the BBB logo teasing you, but they may actually ship your order instead of leaving you high and dry for weeks without informing you.

Connie, you have more courage than I have, but what a great endorsement for this site.
I hope you enjoy your new stuff. It sounds wonderful and that was a great deal.
Wonderful review,
