After buying this phone, I found out that you can hookup the phone to the computer. Why would I do that? Well, let me explain:
1. Sync contacts and calendar.
2. Download ringtones/images from your PC (if you find free MIDI files, you can use them as ring tones instead of buying them on the web!).
3. Use the phone as a wireless modem. The best part of this last feature is that it's about the speed of ISDN (about 3 times faster than a modem, but still far behind DSL or Cable).
As a matter of fact, I'm writing this review on my laptop while connected to the Sprint Vision network! Neat huh?
The only downsides I can see about the phone is that surfing the web directly on the phone is SLooooowwww and doesn't work that well. Sprint doesn't advertise the "wireless modem" feature nor do they sell the cable anymore since they want to monetize the whole thing by selling you ringtones you can get for free and to keep you from gobbling up bandwidth on their network. Just do a search on ebay for "sanyo 4900 USB" and you'll find all you need.
Happy surfing!
