davidis99's Full Review: Xerox Phaser 6200DP Laser Printer
This is the fourth or fifth Phaser series printer I've worked with in the last six years, and the second our office has purchased in the last 3 years. Considering the features, the price paid is well worth it - this printer was the same cost as our Phaser 750 was 1 1/2 years ago, and does so much more, it's amazing.
Printer setup - our network doesn't use DHCP, and I was still able to manually setup TCP/IP on the 6200DP in a third of the time the Phaser 750 takes, thanks to Xerox making great improvements to the on-printer controls. Physical setup (installing cartridges, paper) is much easier, thanks to Xerox placing the toner bottles on the top of the printer under a translucent removable panel, instead of through the side panel as with the 750.
Paper feed with the 6200 is either with the 500 sheet paper tray (a nice improvement over the 250 sheet tray on the 750) or thru the manual feed tray.
For our office use, image quality has been excellent. PowerPoint presentations reproduce text and images quite well, as do marketing materials in either Word or PDF format.
The printer does come with management software, but, to be quite honest, we haven't needed anything but the printer drivers. Through the print dialog from any application, you can enhance or reduce image quality, auto-duplex (show me another color printer under $2500 that can auto-duplex. I dare you) collate - anything we want this printer to do, it can do.
