This past Mother's Day, I was searching for a nice, little something for my grandmothers and came across FTD.com. In the past I usually stopped in at our local florist and picked something, but this year we'd moved and I decided to look online. I couldn't be happier with the selection, price, delivery and quality of the items I ordered from FTD.com.
Shopping at FTD.com-
In a word, EASY. The design of FTD.com is amongst the most user-friendly I've come across in my internet shopping experience. The main page beckons with lovely "special" arrangements for sale, and several handy ways to search for that special something. The top of the page offers quick surfing to the following categories:
Flowers
Plants
Gourmet Gifts
Roses
More Gift Ideas
Occasions
Quick, direct links line the side of the page and really narrow things down. They list occasions separately, gifts by item and so on. So for me, one click brought me easily to Mother's Day selections and allowed me to search by a price range. The photos were vivid and the arrangements looked lovely. Of course I was a bit worried, because photos can be misleading and the actual products might differ.
My first choice was unfortunately sold out, but the replacement bouquet I selected was available. It was offered as shown in the picture of upgradable to Deluxe or Premium for an extra charge. The per item shipping charge is also clearly given. the product's approximate dimensions and what is included are also listed.
Selection-
Once you've picked the perfect gift you'll need to input the delivery zip code to determine options for delivery dates. I was given same day dates for both addresses I used. I could pick from the same day, next day, and all the way through the weekend. I selected delivery for the Friday before Mother's Day for both. At checkout, you then have the option to personalize a complimentary card or to add extras. Extras can be anything from an actual card, to balloons, or a stuffed animal and so on. Prices are clearly marked to show what you'll be ordering.
Other Choices for gift giving are golf and spa certificates, fruit, cookie bouquets and stuffed animals. There seems to be something for most anyone you need to a little something for.
Checking Out-
Since I had multiple items I had to enter two addresses and select two delivery times. It was all very well laid out and easy to do.
Payment can be made in a number of ways: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX, Diners Club and Carte Blanche.
Delivery was right on time for both orders even though it was a busy time of year for florists. Since FTD.com can come through on Mother's Day, I'll have no qualms about using them throughout the year for my occasional floral orders.
International delivery is available for $21.99 delivery charge (versus the $9.99 charge for stateside floral delivery).
The Guarantee-
According to the website FTD.com guarantees your satisfaction and "fresh, beautiful" flowers. If you aren't satisfied, then both an e-mail address and phone number are provided to contact them. I did not need to use this service as I was totally satisfied. Exactly what FTD.com would do wasn't stated, but it seems like they at least will make the effort to make you happy.
Your Account-
A nice option offered from FTD.com is that you can create an account at checkout to save your recipient's delivery information. This can save you tons of time in the future. You can also have them send you gift reminders for birthdays and such.
