Cricket really does SUCK!!!

The Bottom Line: Never buy a Cricket phone. And if for some reason you are tricked into thinking it will work well for you, GOOD LUCK WITH GETTING ANY PROBLEMS FIXED!

So, when cricket first came out, it looked like the phone we always wanted. Unlimited minutes!!! Well, that would have been nice, if the phone actually worked!!
I had this experience about 2 years ago, and just now found out about this site. I still have tons of angst against cricket and was excited to let you all know how much Cricket really does suck. So get ready....
I bought my phone about Dec 21, 2001 for $110 in an SLC mall. I live about 45 minutes south and informed the seller of this and she assured me that all would be well and my phone would function normally. I went on my merry way. Well, on Dec 26th I activated my phone. I could call anyone I wanted.....BUT, NOBODY IN MY CITY COULD CALL ME WITHOUT BEING CHARGE LONG DISTANCE. This annoyed me since the seller assured me that everything would work fine and there would be no problems, even though I live in a different city than the one I was buying the phone in. I called Cricket that day. they were extremely busy (due to christmas the day before), so I decided to call again January 2nd. I talked to the customer service and they told me to continue using the phone and that it would start working correctly in several days. It didn't. People were still being charged long distance charges.
SO, I called them again. They told me I had to talk to the Cricket service center that I bought it from. SO, I drove to SLC the next day and talked to them. The girl I bought it from wasn't working. The employee that was working was extremely rude and told me it was my fault and that I should have stopped using it and he couldn't do anything about it. I told him that I had called the customer service already, and they told me to keep using it cause it would work soon. He wouldn't do a thing for me cause I had gone over the limit of minutes to use to return it. Well, no kidding, that is probably because I was told it would start working correctly and to continue using it! He eventually told me I would have to go back to the city I live in, Provo, and go to the brand new Cricket store there.
I went to the Provo store the next day. The manager, Jerry, said that it would be no problem, took my phone, and I would get all my $ back on my CC. A month passes, and I have not been refunded. I call Jerry again, and he tells me HE IS JUST ABOUT TO PUT THE REFUND THROUGH!!!!! HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO DO YOUR JOB, JERRY?!? OK though, at least I am going to get my money back. This is the beginning of march now. So, 2 weeks later, Jerry calls me. He tells me that he can't do anything to give me the money back, and I have to call the phone service company that Cricket actually works with. This was getting so annoying, that I thought I could get more done if I went to the Cricket service center agian myself. Jerry told me the people to call (this is ridiculous that I am still having to do this. It is Crickets job to work with this company, not mine!) I called the main Manager of Co that Cricket told me to call--I wish I could still remember his name, but I do think it was Mike. He told me to call their service center, and they would sent me a check. So he gave me the # and I called them. I talked to a girl, and she said they were going to send me a check for $110 in the mail and I would get it in 2 weeks. I leave Cricket that day, finally relieved that I would get my money.
3 weeks pass, and no check in the mail. I call Mike again. His phone # is disconnected. I thought I dialed wrong, so I tried again. Disconnected. So I call the service center and was going to ask to talk to the same girl. Disconnected. THIS IS RIDICULOUS !!!!!!!!! This whole time I was trying to plan my wedding. I didn't have time for this anymore! No one would help me and do their job and everyone was lying to me! I had spent hours trying to get my $110 dollars back. Jerry from the Provo Cricket store took my phone the first time I went to visit him!
I still don't have my money back from Cricket, and I would advise anyone that wants to do service from cricket to BE AWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
