I have had the Kitchen Aid food processor (KFP600) for about a 2 years and prior to that used the same model at my parents house when visiting. For me it has been wonderful. No more cutting on the cutting board and potential slicing of fingers. Although the blades are VERY sharp and they DO cut fingers easily. This thing is packed full of power and has chopped everything that I have ran through it so far, including celery, carrots, apples, onions, beets, broccoli, mushrooms, potatoes, peppers & garlic (it does an amazing job of mincing the garlic in the small bowl with the chopping blade). That's my favorite part. I have also chopped herbs like parsley, basil oregano, etc.
I haven't tried to make a dough or use it for some of the other advanced options like chopping some meats and tougher items.
I mentioned that my mother has this same model and she uses it on a daily basis, several times a day. It hasn't broken yet. In fact she has had to replace the big bowl because she uses it so much. She runs the parts through the dishwasher a lot which probably weakened the plastic.
Clean up is easy, I just rinse the bowl and spout with hot water. I don't wash it with soap every time because it rinses off well.
I don't have anything negative to say about this appliance. I chose it after using a Hamilton Beach which whimped out and I returned it.
