Pros: Beautiful location, excellent instructors, good food, inexpensive tuition, skiing, Appalcart Cons: Horrible parking situation, limited choices in shopping, food can be expensive, temperamental weather
Attending ASU was a wonderful experience for me. I graduated in 2001 and often wish I could return. In surveys ASU is always ranked very highly by its students. There are so many reasons to love it.
ASU is located in the town of Boone in...

Pros: Everything (no joke) Cons: Nothing (I'm really not kidding =u)
Appalachian State University is truly a place where dreams can come true! I feared that attending the college that was located in the backyard of my high school would be a tragic mistake. However, Appalachian's warm and welcoming environment makes any...

Pros: Reasonable tuition, beautiful area, rented text books, on campus doctors and psychiatrists. Cons: A dull city life, less than decent on campus cafeterias, extremely cold in winter, poor parking situation.
In another month, I will have experienced three semesters of Appalachian State University. I have only lived on campus so far, which always creates an atmosphere in which social establishment and development is made easier. For the extremely reasonable...

Pros: great selection, great flavor Cons: not cheap, you have to have self-control
I not only ate in the various dining halls, but I worked baking cookies and supplying the food lines in Welborne. I honestly never saw anything gross or unsanitary. The sanitation practices were strict.
I enjoyed eating at Trivett and the...

Pros: convienent to on-campus students Cons: way too pricey
ASU Food plan is the worst! I once ate on the "meal plan" when I lived on campus for 2 years. First of all, the prices are ridiculous! Say you want some, for example, peanuts m&m's. You go in there and fill a bag up with, what you...

Appalachian is a great school. Everyone here is so friendly and supportive. When I first saw the campus, I knew that I wanted to go to App. The fact the students and faculty are so nice just made everything that much better. Freshman orientation was...

Pros: Good quality Education, Great Price Cons: Smaller town
Appalachian State University lies in the beautiful city of Boone, North Carolina, deep in the heart of the magestic Appalachian Mountains. Considered a relatively small campus, it had around 12,000 undergraduates and some 4,000 graduates. ASU prides...

Pros: spread out over the campus Cons: cant think of any
I have been eating at the various dining halls on ASU's campus for a few weeks now and they have a great variety of food. With 6 separate facilities I have plenty of options. We have a coffe house, a restaurant, a cafeteria, 2 food courts with lots of...

Pros: Approachable staff with small student/teacher ratios in major courses Cons: It is SO Diverse that there is a club for everything!
Appalachian State is a wonderful school but keep in mind a few points:
The campus is very hilly and the hikes are hard when you only have 10 minutes between classes.
It snows a lot in the winter. Be sure you like cold weather before you go and...
