Pros: Great educational bargain, wonderful professors, excellent reputation with recruiters Cons: Socially, there is not much of a university atmosphere
Throughout America, there are many, many fine institutions of higher learning. I believe that California State Polytechnic University, Pomona has earned a place on that list of high-quality schools. Yes, I write with a tad bit of prejudice (I am a ...

Pros: Small class size, pastoral setting, variety of classes available, price Cons: Many impacted majors, food in commons less than edible
One sight of the green, grassy pastures; frolicking Arabian horses; modern skyline; well stocked plant nursery and I confess, I was hooked. My son was going to this school!Fortunately, as the price was within my budget and it offered him a wide choice...

Pros: knowledgeable professors, opportunities to learn in smaller groups Cons: difficult to get into many classes
Cal Poly Pomona, in my opinion, is a fairly decent school, not exactly perfect, but not so bad either. Whether or not you like or dislike this school may depend on your particular major and on the quality of the education provided therein.

Pros: Diverse Staff and Experience of Staff Cons: Limited number of courses offered
The Political Science department at Cal Poly Pomona is terrific. You get a good blend of professors that are as diverse as the student body. Many of the professors have practical experience that helps relate their topics.
Dr. Renford Reese is an...

Pros: Well known, and respected in various industries. Good real world ideas. Some very good instructors who have been there and done that. Cons: Commuter school, impacted programs, lousy administration
I attended Cal Poly in the early 80's, and after looking through all the reviews I see that some things have remained very much the same. Impacted programs, bad parking situation, crowded dorms etc. Yet Cal Poly still maintains it's fine reputation in...

Pros: Good education for the price Cons: On-campus life is lacking
Cal-Poly, Pomona is a good public school. The town of Pomona is not so good, but as a native from Northern California, I rather enjoyed living down south for a while.
Education - Instructors were very good, they all had very real world...

Pros: Extra exercise, shuttle service Cons: Idiot parkers, inconvenience, lack of parking
If you've ever attended a class at Cal Poly, you know about the parking situation there. Personally, this upcoming semester (Fall 2000) will be my third there. In my experience (limited as it may be) if you arrive any later than 0800, expect a fifteen...

Pros: Broad class offerings. Cons: Lack of career counseling after graduation.
In 1997, I walked down the aisle and accepted my B.A. in Psychology from Cal Poly Pomona. Overall, the education I received was satisfactory and depending on professor, exemplary.
If I may mention names which I think it wholly applicable,...

Pros: Wide variety & friendly staff Cons: The occasional food fight
Most college campus all share the common feature of a dining common, the other main feature share across campuses is the poor quality and taste, however, in the case of Los Olivios I really can't complain. After all I'm served three square meals a day,...
