Pros: You'll be well prepared for the future; often hands-on experience is gained Cons: High dropout/flunk-out rate; survival of the fittest
"I survived Georgia Tech."
This is not an uncommon sentiment from Georgia Institute of Technology graduates (GaTech for short). Why, you may ask? Is it really that tough? Why would you go to a school where the graduates felt that...

Pros: Great education, Tremendous job opportunities upon graduation Cons: LOTS of work, often 5-6 years to graduate
Ever wonder if college could really be that hard? Well, if you go to Georgia Tech, it will be. On the other hand, you'll also get a great job when you graduate -- according to Georgia Tech's Career Services Department, Tech graduates average starting...

Pros: Education, value, reputation Cons: Difficulty, campus, being shafted
Although there are many MANY ways to leave early, there are only 2 ways to succeed at Georgia Tech:
1) be truly gifted. Not just smart, but genius-level smart.
2) work your ass off for 4-6 years. This is the boat I'm in.
I'm...

Pros: Lots of choices Cons: Sometimes hard to get to, Busy at times
Everyone's heard horror stories about college dining halls, but the ones at Georgia Tech don't fit that image. Whether you're vegetarian, or you eat at odd hours, or you have some other special food-related need, they've probably got you covered....

Pros: Great technical education, great city Cons: maybe engineering isn't your thing
For those of you who are considering a technical field, particularly engineering, you better make Georgia Tech on your short list of schools. If you live in Georgia, then I'm sure that this is already the case, as Georgia residents pay only $3,000 in...

Pros: Great reputation, good training for life Cons: Lots of hard work
...like you've never worked before -- at least that's the experience that many new students at Georgia Tech seem to have. I've heard several times since long before I ever applied to Tech that "the hard part's not getting in, it's staying...

Pros: Excellent school Cons: Hard work, and lots of it
Note: This comment is in response to an awful, ridiculous, and almost entirely untrue opinion written by cameltoe. I have purposely failed to include a link, as I don't want him to make any extra money on his opinion as a result of my response. If...

Pros: There are parties sometimes Cons: You'll rarely have time to go to any without blowing off an assignment or test
If you're looking for a school where you can party 24/7 and still get A's and B's in your classes, keep looking. At Georgia Tech, you'll be lucky to make C's and D's if you don't spend lots of time studying. Sure, there will be occasional frat...

Pros: Top 5 in nation, great faculty, few grad student teachers, good facilities Cons: Some foreign faculty, some difficulty scheduling classes, advisors not always helpful.
Consistently rated among the top five aerospace engineering department in the country, Georgia Tech's AE department has much to offer the budding rocket scientist.

Pros: Technologically oriented, excellent facilities, faculty support, great community, quality productions Cons: It's college theater. It's not for everyone. It can take as much or as little time as needed.
Georgia Tech is an outstanding engineer, science and computer school.
It's also home to the oldest continually operating theater in the city of Atlanta. Not bad for a bunch of engineers.
DramaTech was started in 1942-1943 and has been in...

Pros: Valuable degree Cons: You'll have to work hard!
As a bachelor's degree becomes more of a necessity in today's working world, most colleges and universities are actively and furiously moving towards improving their academic programs.
At Georgia Tech, however, it's pretty much just business...

Pros: My college reputation precedes me Cons: My student loans follow me
Okay! So you applied for financial aid to got to college for at least one of a few reasons: 1) you can not afford tuition out of pocket, 2) your parents can not afford tuition out of pocket, or 3) you are not that bright and chose to create this debt...

Pros: Cost, Challenging, resources, Good rep, prepares for grad work better than 99% of schools Cons: Everyone out to get you--students, profs, parking dept., housing. Not typical college experience for sure.
This review written for potential students especially. As someone who spent 6 years there, my opinion is well formed. I received B.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering, and Management, Certificate in Finance. My high school gpa 3.75, SAT 1270. My ...
