Pros: beautiful campus, always growing, middle of the city Cons: at times unsafe a few blocks off campus, only one frat house
I went to Parks College, which is a sub-college of Saint Louis University. It is located on the same campus (previously used to be in Illinois but was moved). It offers degrees in varying fields, but I am familiar with only two, Computer Science and ...

Pros: beautiful architecture, close to lots of entertainment Cons: can be unsafe once the sun goes down
Saint Louis University's campus is very beautiful. It is right in the middle of downtown St. Louis and within walking distance of many great attractions. The first attraction being the Fox Theater. The Fox gets many wonderful Broadway plays and also...

There are numerous traditions and folklore surrounding college athletics. Nowhere in college athletics is there more tradition and folklore surrounding a sport than the the mystique surrounding college Rugby.
Once thought of a a fringe...

Pros: Young ambitious professors, good research opportunities for undergraduates, SLU is spending a great deal of money in hopes of becoming a research one institution, this translates into more money for equipment and facilities. Cons: some of the older professors have not published anything in the last ten years, no P.h D program.
Although SLU does not currently have a P.h.D program in chemistry, I feel their undergraduate and masters programs are excellent and well-worth your time and money. The school is currently hiring a number of new younger professors who will add to the...

Pros: Professors are friendly and encouraging Cons: Administration has many problems and is in need of serious overhaul.
I started out at Parks College, the aviation school of the University. Moving over to the main campus was a total culture shock. I really missed the close knit community that was Parks.
It is nice the way you can almost forget you are downtown...

Excellent Education
by beferrero ,Jul 01 '06
Pros: Excellent education, amazing professors and beautiful campus Cons: High cost with new fees popping up every year
I just graduated from SLU this May with a bachelors in Psychology. I am a non-traditional student, so I feel that my experience may be a little different than many of the students on the campus. I am so grateful that I had an opportunity to earn an education here. I met amazing professors and learned so much during the 3 years I spent at SLU. SLU provides so many opportunities for their students to get involved in the field that they are studying. Additionally, the campus is beautiful (with the exception of some bizarre statues purchased by the school president). The price tag certainly was a factor that would have made SLU prohibitive for me, but the money available to students in the form of scholarships made it possible for me to attend. I would highly recommend SLU to anyone. I loved going to school here and will miss walking around the gorgeous campus every day!
