Pros: Excellent academics, professors, research opportunities, career help, athletics. Local recognition. Small school, near NYC. Cons: Tech school = few girls, bad on-campus dining options, no national recognition.
Summary: Exactly one year ago, in April 2001, I was trying to decide on a college from those I had been accepted to. I was not going to go anywhere outside of NYC, so my choices were somewhat limited. I also wanted a good Computer Science program which further ... read more

Pros: WCPR. Hoboken (if you're over 21). Perfect if you plan to commute. NYC. Cons: Expensive. Terrible food. Terrible professors. Sub-par social scene. No girls. School is vacant on weekends
Summary: Stevens Institute of Technology is just that, an Institute. It is not a university, not a typical college; it is a tiny school with a name that echoes around the tri-state area. The saying usually goes; you get what you give. Well… not really the ... read more

Pros: Fraternity life, the view, the occasional great professor, good education and reputation Cons: Disgusting food, extremely challenging workload, lack of social life, no football
Summary: Coming into Stevens, the first thing that hit me was the fact that a lot of people here are geeky and have no social life. SOCIAL LIFE: Walk around the cafeteria and you're bound to hear arguments about PC vs. Mac, Windows vs. Linux, etc. If ... read more

Pros: Extreme academic rigor and comprehensive curriculum (if you are disciplined in your study habits) Cons: Extreme academic rigor and comprehensive curriculum (if you are not disciplined)
Summary: The computer science/computer engineering program at Stevens is the best available, bar none. That may sound like a strong statement, however, there are many reasons why Stevens provides the most thorough and complete computer science education anywhere. ... read more

Pros: Very strong academic program, and the professional world knows it. Cons: A dorm and school cafeteria is not going to match your home and Mom's cooking.
Summary: Stevens Institute of Technology has positively influenced my professional and academic career inestimably. Stevens has, by far, the most intense, rigorous, and strongest engineering and scientific program of any university in the United States and ... read more

Pros: Nice campus, friendly students Cons: No help from student service center, classes are large
Summary: You may have read my other Stevens opinion, but this one is rather different than the first. I have finally completed my first semester at this university, and I have much to say about it.
First off, the so called Student "Service" ... read more

Pros: nice view, good professors (see virtualratings.com for more commentary) Cons: bad food, no parking, no social life, low bandwidth
Summary: I have found that this school has way too many administrators that dont do jack. It is common in this school to have a friend or two that can't attend a semester due to financial aid f'ups and/or administrators losing important forms. My personal ... read more

Pros: Solid academics Cons: Too many TAs teaching, some classes are too large

Summary: Stevens Institute of Technology has profoundly influenced my professional career and personal life to a greater extent than any academic experience I have had prior or subsequently. Stevens has the most rigorous and thorough scientific and ... read more

Pros: Excellent Quality of School Cons: Too Many Classes
Summary: My feelings for Stevens are very mixed. On one hand, I spent some of my best time at Stevens, and other hand, my Class (1993/1994*) was very much cheated financially by the school. However, reading some of the negative reviews, I am compelled to defend ... read more

Pros: Make lots of money Cons: Small school - no football team

Pros: The view, some professors Cons: the rest of the professors, food, cleaning service
