Pros: Reasonable price, good student-instructor ratio, low cost of living, small classes, corporate sponsors, great programs Cons: somewhat far from home for some students
I first became aware of the University of Alabama-Huntsville when my son went there for an interview as a prospective student, on spring break his Senior year in high school. It was not a school that I had any experience with, good or bad. During the...

Just don't live on campus

Pros: Generally a good school Cons: Horrible internet connection in the dorms; Help Desk lies about it
The other reviews are sufficient to give you an idea of UAH's qualities. The single drawback to the school is that the entire school essentially has two cable modems' worth of bandwidth for the internet connection (10 megabits). As a result, the internet can often be dreadfully slow--that is, if you are able to get online at all.
If you live in housing, you are also subject to the http://www.cisco.com/go/urt, which constantly crashes and loses connection due to the poorly configured servers. Before you are allowed that privilege, however, you are required to run a program on your PC. This program allegedly checks your computer for spyware and viruses, but in the process it does other things, such as installing registry keys, with no explanation.
Oh, and if you are running Linux, you can forget about getting online altogether; the Cisco URT is incompatible with all versions of Linux except Red Hat and SUSE. Mac users, however, get to bypass the logon client altogether.
