Pros: Great Location, tons of sun, one of the best music schools in the South Cons: Located in the city, just like alot of schools are
I am a music major at UNCG. I believe that UNCG is very diversified and that should be pointed out. If someone mentions Tate St., right next to the old School of Music, I think of bums and druggies. That is true. But many of the people that go to UNCG do...

Pros: Great program, great professors Cons: not enough scholarship money
As I said before, I am a clarinet education and performance major at UNCG. I. like many others in my school, came to UNCG for the performance and educational opportunities that were there. They still are. I recently started student teaching and feel like...

Pros: Arty Cons: Arty
What I would like to say is that everyone is . . . arty at UNC-Greensboro. But first let me say a little something on the other aspects that may affect your choice of universities.
Academically, UNCG ranks well behind Chapel Hill and State in...

I have known I wanted to go to this school since I was a freshman in high school. Now I am a senior, and I have visited the school several times in the last year alone. My sister is interested in the music school, which I very highly recommend. A new...

Pros: It is a very good school because it is well rounded. Cons: UNCG is not a party school if that is what you are looking for.
I think that the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, is a great school for those who want a well-rounded school. It is a small and intimate in the aspect of class sizes, but it has that overall big school atmosphere, when it comes to things to...

Pros: Warm, inviting, close-knit and relatively small Cons: Administration and faculty can sometimes be rude and unhelpful
As far as colleges go, one tends to hear things about them before one even sets foot on the campus. UNC-G is one of those places that gets an extremely bad rep for pretty much no reason other than fear. People at my high school nicknamed it...

UNC Greensboro Business School
by whitetiger1969 ,Mar 22 '08
Pros: Faculty, Curriculam, Tuition and Fees and Career Services are great
Cons: Full Time MBA program has students with 2 years or no work experience.
UNCG has a good Business School (Bryan School of Business and Economics). I would say that it is next to UNC Chapelhill in the UNC system in terms of quality of business education. I think the School should do a better job of marketing it program nationally and internationally. To mention, it has a diverse student body with 40% International. There is substantial amount of interaction between the business school and Triad businesses in NC. I think they are inviting a lot of companies to campus to interview MBA students which is getting UNC G Bryan School to a better position in NC and in the nation. I think UNC Greensboro Business School will be among the top business schools in the nation in future.

UNC Greensboro Science Department
by uncgstudent ,Nov 30 '07
Pros: competitive, academic rigor, well-known for research and sciences, great location Cons: cafeteria food isn't the best
The university has a VERY competitive science department that is run by top notch professors. UNCG definitely lives up to its motto (inspire. change.). The students graduating are very successful and have a good outlook on life. UNCG is basically a miniature Chapel Hill. Not only are the physical features similiar, but the curriculum is exactly the same resulting with getting the same education at both schools. Also, the teachers are of the same caliber.

Okay school mostly for commuters
by kathy1111 ,May 14 '06
Pros: Medium-sized school; good arts program Cons: State funding cuts have hurt the school
The previous reviews here are a bit old, and UNCG has changed a bit since then. It was previously described as "arty," and although UNCG does have an active arts program, the students described in the previous reviews are now gone. One can dress in any style or listen to any type of music now and fit in here. It is definitely a melting pot. It is a school heavy with community students -- a high commuter rate -- and weekends on campus are pretty quiet. The quality of academics depends on the major, with some better than others. Same goes for the graduate school. In the past decade, several private schools that were formerly competitors of UNCG have surpassed UNCG in leaps and bounds. Perhaps the blame should be placed on state funding cuts. It does appear that the administration is trying to improve weaker areas of the school, though. For undergraduates, I would recommend a car. The nightlife is located downtown just couple of miles from campus.
