If Eminem Had Been HomeSchooled Would He Be a Good Boy??Jul 06 '00 Write an essay on this topic.Home schooling Vs. Public schooling? Who will come out on top? Should little Marshall stay home and learn everything from Mom, Dad, or a tutor? Or should Little Marshall attend public school with his friends and risk exposure to what could be "poor education". There is no easy answer. I lean towards public schools because that is how I was educated. There are many perks, lifelong-friends, social events, cultural diversity, Prom... and so on. However, I can see the value in being home schooled. All the afore mentioned perks of public school can apply to home school, with the exception of Prom. After much careful thought I have decided both methods can be equally effective. Both are decent ways to educate your child...depending on the type of parent that you are. For example if you are a parent that has the time, motivation and the knowledge to educate someone else then by all means home school your child. Just be sure to surround them in rich cultural diversity, academic as well as athletic activities, and allow them to be friends with public school children. It is a huge responsibility but some people can handle it very well. However, if both parents in the household must work and don't have the time to give their child a good home school education then why not send them to public or private schools? I have firmly believed that half of all education is learning to interact within a group setting. From 1st to 12th grade this is being taught and stressed. Public schools provide easy access to libraries, computer labs, and knowledgeable adults. Not to mention the many none school related activities. Sitting around talking to your close friends during breaks between classes are priceless times. I will always remember the first day I got to drive to high school...it was great!!! Now I will clear up your nagging question about my title choice! Those of you familiar with Eminem will understand this... So would Eminem have turned out to be a Saint if he had been home schooled? I doubt it; he says that his mother was a drug-abusing lunatic. This example just serves to illustrate my point that home schooling is not better, it is not worse, it is just an alternative.
