Don't Sweat It

So, you're applying to college. Filling out applications, writing essays, revising essays, trying to figure out why the school you want, should want you. Yeah, it’s hell, but we all go through it. But the real thing you’re worrying about is the interview, isn’t it. After all, the application forms are comfortably impersonal, but an interview requires actual human interaction. DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT. If you’re tense, they’ll know it, and that’s not good. Interviews, like predators, can smell your fear. What you’ve got to do is relax. Figure out why you’re special, why YOU are a beautiful and unique snowflake, and let the interviewer know why you’re a great pick for whatever college you want to attend. Figure you some good questions about the college, engage the interviewer in conversation, act the part of a mature and sophisticated person. Don’t go in nervous, don’t go in cocky, don’t go in afraid. Be yourself, and it’s all good.
