The Test That Works For You!Jul 24 '00 Write an essay on this topic.The SATII, though vital and challenging is not that difficult to prepare for and succeed in. As an experienced person in the SAT testing systems I would say that this test is easier than the SATI! Yes I think that this test is easier. Your first advantage is the fact that you choose your strong points and get to do those subjects. Most people are either good in English OR Mathematics, in the SATI you have to take both whether you want to or not. This rule applies for the ACT also. Seeing as you add your math and English scores together to get your total SATI score you have a serious disadvantage! For an example lets pretend: There is a boy named Sam. He is an extremely good student because he gets his work done thoroughly and consistently. Though he pulls decent grades in all subjects, he is much stronger in English than Math. Though he studies for his SATI fiercely and well in advance of the test he only manages a 350 on his mathematics. He pulls a 700 on his English and that leaves him with an 1150. Sam is disappointed! Don't worry Sam you can make up for it in your SATII. Go ahead pick your subjects and study for them. Though this will still be a challenging test, you should do a few things in Sam's situation. 1. Take advantage of all your tools. If you can take a class or get a tutor go for it they can help you with the writing elements and organizing your thoughts. (A tutor is ideal if you can) 2. Meet with the teachers of your subjects (especially if you can't take a class etc.) they can tell you what to focus on and how to spend your time the most efficiently. 3. Lastly don't freak out. And don't waste your time with those books! They can be helpful in SATI but forget about the SATII. The only helpful book would be the one that tells you what is on the test, but study from your own books and tutors. TRUST ME! Good Luck! Don't be nervous, just do your best and most of all be organized while your studying. Just remember let this test work for YOU!!  |
