I went here, I should know!

Pros:the finanacial aid package
Cons:all the things I mentioned above that are not good

I would not have my law degree were it not for the fantastic financial aid package Syracuse Law offered me. It was all in the form of loans, but hey! If I hadn't had the loans, I would not have been able to go to law school anywhere. And NOT all law schools offer the same loans either. That is something not al propective students are aware of. If you are interested in law school, make sure the law school has the financial aid package for you. In fact, some law schools have very thin financial aid packages. Syracuse even had a loan I could take out to prepare me for the bar exam! I mean I did not miss out on anything! As for the law school experience itself at Syracuse...well, I don't know if they do now, I almost doubt it as I get all the alumni mailings and have not read anything, but they did not take attendance in class when I was a law student there and it was very easy to skip class or classes as often as you wanted. This is not a good thing really. I know one school, St. John's at the time I was a law student did take attendance and I thought, "how awful". But now I think it is a good thing. You miss alot by not going to class and the temptation to skip is really there. There were a couple of teachers that were really horrible. The worst was Martin Fried and there was one who was called the smiling assasin who was a very hard grader. He failed me in two courses, the only two courses I failed in law school and both were courses I took with him. Rod Suratt is his name. There was another professor who taught evidence named Travis ? (someone) who was weird. I did not care for him. He was very ornery. Most of the others were OK. Some of the staff who worked at the school were not too cool, had attitudes. The alumni guy (head of the alumni office) in the school is gay and always had a chip on his shoulder. His name is Richard and he is still there. A real phony if you ask me. All of one's I just mentioned were but Martin Fried was the worst. Liar goes along with it. I once
