Avoid at all costs...

Transferring schools is a nightmare. A student needs to do what is in their best interest for the future, but try to avoid the transfer.

I attempted to transfer schools. I ended up graduating with a different degree from my same school because of all the heartache of transferring.
I had bee a music major for 2 years at Towson State University. I decided I wanted to go into Social Work instead and attempted to transfer to UMBC for their program. UMBC would not take half of my credits earned and still wanted me to take a basic music course to fulfill the music requirement (no need the 2years I lived, ate, and breathed music.)
Needless to say, I stayed at Towson and received a degree in Sociology.

Watch the schools criteria closely. If you think you might want to transfer but need to wait until acceptance, only take the courses that will transfer. Either way they will help you graduate. And do it early in your college years in order not to prolong the year you spend in college.

Focus on the future goals and be open minded, but be smart about your decisions.
