My 4 best years, oops I meant 5

What a long, strange trip it was and subsequently the best five years of my life. I still haven't gotten over the fact that I'm not going anymore. You see, I graduated last June (99) after five years of studying, well, o.k. four years of studying and a year that was a mess because I was trying to change majors. Anyhow, I definetely miss it and have even been back a few times to see some of my old roomates.Enough about me, I'm now here to provide some tips based on my own experiences. Geez, I kinda feel a little important, like someone out there in cyberland may actually take my words to heart. For real though, trust me, this pseudo-survival guide speaks the truth. 1st and foremost, stock up on pasta, A) because you'll always be hungry and B) it's easy to cook, not many of us can whip up an Emeril dish in 10 minutes. Another lifeline is money, one of the hidden costs of college that doesn't appear on the tuition bill. There's nothing worse than being flat broke on a college campus when all your roomates go out and you're left sitting there re-arranging the furniture in your dorm room for the 100,000th time. Get to know as many people as you can. It's such a diverse world on a college campus and you'll meet some very interesting people. Bring your playstation or N64, but don't skip class because your James Bond game is too intense. Trust me it happened in my suite. I would leave for class at 8am and return at 3pm and the same group of kids were still glued to the tv playing Bond. Drink a beer, occassionally. You need time to unwind or else you'll go nuts. I may not be the ideal dean's list student (well actually two semesters I made deans list), but after studying you become super-stressed. Don't go out and get hammered, frat-style, take it easy and always yield the keys when drinking. Go check out a sporting event, go to class, skip a class, study hard, not long, get involved with the campus, get ready to take the ride of your life, a ride you'll never want to end.
