A big hats off to Old Dominion University. As a part-time student I've had the opportunity to be a part of ODU for several years. In that time I've seen the University expand almost two-fold and the work isn't finished yet.
ANYONE looking for a university that will bend over backwards to accommodate you should consider ODU. Due to the large military presence in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia (Norfolk, Virginia Beach and surrounding), ODU has spent years developing it's "TELE-TECHNET" program. The program offers university level classes at literally dozens of remote sites, not only in Virginia, but around the country. I have never seen a university that offers such a wide variety of off-campus courses at so many sites.
In addition to it's wide variety of off-campus offerings, the campus itself is rapidly growing. The library was completely renovated 4 years ago and the student union (WEB Center) is the centerpiece of the campus, with several restaurants and shops. A new convocation center is under construction and several building are either being renovated or are under construction.
To date, I have been very pleased with my education. I had the advantage of working in Engineering prior to attending school and I was pleased to see that ODU was (is) right on the money with current trends, procedures and industry standards. Cooperative education and internships are encouraged as well as involvement in student chapters of professional organizations.
As I previously mentioned, I can only speak from my experiences and observations within the Engineering Department, but I have no reason to believe that the other departments (majors) aren't at the same caliber as the Engineering department.
