Brighten someone's day with a care package!!! =) These are great not only for financially-challenged college students, but also soldiers (overseas... or maybe in basic training), and overseas missionaries. =) I've recieved several care packages, and also sent them, so I'd like to give some advice. =) I hope this is helpful!! =)

*Some great items for college students*
-- Your local newspaper
-- Their old high school newspaper
-- Gum
-- Book of Stamps
-- Easy Mac (microwaveable macroni and cheese)
-- Hot chocolate
-- Lipton Cup-O-Soup
-- Phone Card
-- Cute Pez Dispenser with refills
-- Dental floss
-- Chocolate candy
-- Homemade cookies!
-- Vitamins (chances are they aren't getting the nutrition they need!!)
-- Any of their favorite foods that aren't too heavy
-- Mini detergent boxes
-- A stress ball or silly putty
-- Bubbles (to relive their childhood)
-- Cute pencils/ erasers
-- Another good idea- get some cute socks (if your sending it to a girl) and fill it with wrapped candy, gum etc. That way when they've emptied them, they'll have some new socks to wear! A good place to get cute socks is Old Navy or Gadzooks.
-- If you want to be really generous, get a roll of quarters for laundry money!

*Some great ideas for people in the Army, Navy, Marines or Air force!*
-- Home made cookies (although, we sent some to my cousin when he was at basic training, and they only let him smell them. Maybe these should wait until they're out of boot camp)
-- Phone card
-- Stamps/Stationary
-- Cute pez dispenser with refills
-- Underwear
-- Peanut butter
-- Local newspaper
-- Girl Scout cookies (if available)
-- Gum
-- Hard candies (chocolate candies may melt if they're being send overseas)
-- Another good idea-- find out what they specifically want or need. They may not be able to get something they really want at the PX.. (like hair care products, contact solution, etc.)

*Some great ideas for missionaries that are overseas*

A care package will definitely brighten their day, however depending on where they live, (like Africa) it may take awhile for the package to come. Don't pack anything meltable or, of course, perishable.

-- Cool Aid Packages
-- Gum
-- Hard Candies
-- Hot Chocolate
-- Peanut Butter (maybe)
-- Phone cards
-- Local newspaper
-- Girl Scout Cookies (if available)
-- Local church bulletin (if they went to your church)
-- Stationery/note cards
-- Recent news magazine- like news week
-- Maybe another recent magazine- like Good Housekeeping
-- If they have a VCR, tape tv shows for and send it to them! Find out which shows they like the most. Also, if you are close to them, home movies would be great!!! =)

I hope these are beneficial!! =) I'm sure I'll revise it again when I think of more stuff! =) Have a great day, my fellow epinionators!!!
