Ok. My second opinion of the Intramural Sports program at Furman is similar to my first. I thoroughly enjoyed the Soccer program, perhaps more so than the Intramural Basketball Program. This particular program runs more smoothly than basketball and the competition seems to be more fierce. In my freshman year, I participated as a player (goalie for the team). In my sophomore year, the SAME team asked me to be the coach. Either way I was having fun.
The freshman team just simply clicked. We operated on the same page the entire season. As a goalie, my job was to stop the ball from going into the goal. I was very successful, only allowing 3 goals in the regular season, and 2 goals in the playoffs. However, I must thank the other team members for the impressive defensive skills that the team possessed.
The sophomore team I worked with had as much chemistry, we didn't fair as well, because we introduced a new player to the goalie position. However, I was able to coach the new goalie enough to allow the team to be very successful during the course of the season.
Overall, this was a good experience. The entire Intramural program at Furman teaches teamwork, which is an important skill to possess when you enter the workforce. I recommend all students to become involved in the Intramural program.
