Talk about the perfect product!

by bigredlinux , Jun 13 '01
Pros: innovative, easy connectivity, slick looking
Cons: space still a bit limited, hums a bit
There is almost too much good stuff to say about this product (HipZip) to fit it into a review, it needs an article. I tried out the SonicBlue DiamondRio last week, which was my first experience with an mp3 player...I was not at all impressed. After...

Wave of the future?

by rhodak , Jan 25 '01
Pros: unlimited storage; doubles as removable drive; great MAC support
Cons: headphones poor; no bookmarks
best thing since the diskman as long as napster remains free. Key inovation is the small removable disks (like floppies) that hold 40 MB of data and cost about 8 bux in ten packs. i bought ten of them and i just recycle them. i may retire some of them...

A 3 in 1 function! Hows that possible? Read on.....

by x-men , Nov 16 '00
Pros: Nice MP3 with storage capabilities
Cons: No radio capability
Though not a sleek looking as creative nomad series, iomega has ventured out from the conventional storage business and took a big step into the MP3 arena.

So what is so special with this MP3? HipZip uses "PocketZip" also known...

Awesome Concept But Too Loud

by db8mattm , Dec 12 '01
Pros: Inexpensive media, small, good sound, easy to use
Cons: Slightly heavy, player makes noise while reading Clik! disks
I bought my HipZip because of its innovative concept. The 40MB PocketZip disks were only $10 a piece, a fraction of the price of memory cards. I could carry around 5 of them with 200MB of music compared to the 64MB of other players. I found the HipZip's...

great mp3 player if the price is right

by bennathan , Oct 17 '01
Pros: great sound, easy to set up
Cons: battery is tricky to charge, headphones are junk
I bought this item as an open box buy at circuit city for $100. When i got it, it took me about 5 minutes from start to finish to get the software loaded on my computer and transferring music. The sound is great. The same if not better than many higher...

Worth every penny!

by Caroled4 , Jan 03 '01
Pros: Great technology for Now
Cons: Included headphones are awful...get your own pair.
I decided to ask for the Iomega HipZip for Christmas this year and so far it's just perfect for my needs. I was a little skeptical at first because of the tiny Click disks. I just kept thinking these little things won't last a day in my clumsy hands. The...

Good overall but not prefect

by bjstein , Feb 24 '01
Pros: inexpesive media/rechargable battery
Cons: large as compaired to other mp3 player/ strange sounds
I bought the HipZip new for about $250 at the nerds.net about 4 months ago. I also bought 10 40MB disks for $100. I really like how the HipZip shows up as a drive on your computer and putting songs onto it is as easy as dragging and dropping them into...

Great sound and versatility

by andysource , Sep 22 '01
Pros: Versatile, Agile, Mobile
Cons: Must remember to recharge!
When I began shopping for a MP3 player, I sound found one thing out: memory is king. With too little memory, you're either forced to shrink your songs, resulting in poorer quality, or you're unable to put more than a handful of songs into memory....

Good basic player

by bief , Jun 20 '01
Pros: Good interface. Easy to read screen. "Unlimited" storage.
Cons: Bigger than some players. 1 disc may be too small for some.
I bought the Iomega HipZip after trying out the Rio 800. I read a lot of reviews and thought the Rio was going to be the one. Unfortunately the unit I got was faulty. I returned it and picked up the HipZip on sale at Best Buy ($120 after a $50 rebate and...

Hey! This thing is pretty nice.

by Mp3_mastermind , Mar 14 '01
Pros: nice size, cheap media, cool looks
Cons: headphones
I recived an Iomega HipZip mp3 player and I really like it. I was looking at them for a while before i decided that i wanted this one. There were a good many reasons why i wanted the HipZip and they are that the memory was cheap, I trust the people over...

It ain't a bargain if you can't use it

by tomorrow2day , Nov 17 '02
Pros: Cheap media in Clik zip discs
Cons: Bugs? INFESTED! Won't hold a charge after a month.
That's what my mom always said, and this MP3 player proves her right. I loved it at first, but soon it began to show its true colors.

The discs are inexpensive, but very hard to find - although you can sure order them from iomega!

Nice for the Beginner

by nenna , Aug 29 '01
Pros: Good volume, durable size, ease of use, options for use other than Music, disc cost
Cons: Installation was a real pain!!!! Especially if you've UPGRADED your system from Windows 98*
i did my comparisons..especially after finding this being offered for $149.99. The fact that it could be used for downloading other formats was a prime selling point. I like the look and feel, smaller, not a necessary factor in my life: especially since...

HipZip

by timbo141 , Jan 19 '02
Pros: Compact and easy to carry.
Cons: none
The Iomega HipZip MP3 player is a great buy. Instead of the built in memory it has interchangeable 40mb disks. These are great because you can just make a new mix or just delete the songs off the disk itself. This saves time when you want your songs...

Worth every penny

by bludbathhq , Jan 18 '02
Pros: Cheap media, good sound quality, built in battery, can be used as a drive
Cons: a slight whir sound when loading, poor headphones
After looking at all of the reviews, I finally decided on the Hipzip. The reasons I chose it is because: It wasn't very expensive, and the media was very cheap. Once I finally got it in the mail (I bought it on eBay) I opened the box, bought a new pair...
