  • Decent Player, Great (with the Voquette)!

    Dec 05 '00
Pros: sound quality, ease of use, (w/ Voquette - great package)
    Cons: no belt clip :(

Summary: I had wanted an MD player for quite some time. I had a lot of MP3's as well as a vast CD collection that I wanted to whittle down into some mixes that I could take with me whether I was running, driving, or just working out in the gym. However, I ... read more

  • stops working after a while

    Dec 29 '02
    Pros: sound, price
    Cons: quality

Summary: Very poorly constructed device. Mine lost a few screws, and stopped recording after a few months. Not very much later it stopped reading discs alltogether. Repairing the unit is expensive, and only solves the problems for a few months. Research on the ... read more

  • Fell Apart after a while

    Oct 09 '02
Pros: Great as a first player/recorder, easy to record on cheap media
    Cons: Craftsmanship, Titling, headphones

Summary: This was my favorite mini disc player/recorder for the first 7 months I had it. I recorded all my songs digitally from my computer, so they were all of great quality (I couldn't notice a difference between those songs and the originals). ... read more

Pros: Sounds great! easy to use. good price.
Cons: only 10 sec. playback, can fall apart on you

Summary: i've had mine for about 2 years. My first one had to be replaced on an extended warranty becasue it just quit for no apparent reason and they couldn't fix it - a big hassle all around! THe SHarp sounds very good. It does everything its supposed to, ... read more

  • Once Was Good but Now is Fading

    Jun 30 '01
Pros: It does it's job efficiently
    Cons: Bulky, Poor Quality

Summary: I got my Mini-Disc player in Christmas 1999, and I must say that at the time it was pretty good. At the time, it was worth what my step-dad paid for, but now it is getting too big compared other portable Mini-Disc Players. I've seen some of ... read more

  • great "low cost" minidisc player

    May 11 '01
Pros: Digital sound, easy to use and transport,
Cons: Low anti-shock memory (only 10 secs.)

Summary: it's a nice player for people that's likely "just record and go" you can utilize it with voquette(a low cost harware and software "voquette media manager") it's a pc based, nice but poor in compatibility program, includes some useful features tohug, to ... read more

  • Overall Good Minidisc Player/ Recorder

    Feb 18 '01
Pros: Great price, Great Sound, Extremely easy to use
Cons: Kind of big, Could have been constructed better.

Summary: One day in June 2000 I decided that I needed to broaden my horizons to beyond CD's. So I went out and bought an RCA Lyra mp3 player. What a mistake! It froze my computer, first of all, and second, if I wanted any more memory I would have to dish out ... read more

  • Ehh, better choices out there.

    Feb 06 '01
Pros: Good price, naming the tracks is cool
Cons: Cheaply made, poor craftsmanship, buttons are not raised enough.

Summary: In my opinion, this product is overpriced. About 3 months after purchasing it, the screws began to come loose on the sides. This caused the upper and bottom portion of the MiniDisc player to separate from each other. I had to get new screws. The sound ... read more

  • Sharp MD-MT15 - Good price for versatile Mini-Disc

    Jan 29 '01
Pros: Good sound quality, low cost, versatile.
Cons: Controls hard to use, skips from vibration/loud sound

Summary: In my work as a drummer, I needed a mini-disc recorder/player to "audition" songs for a show I was doing. A mini-disc was perfect as it allowed me to instantly cue up the next song to preview it prior to kicking off the song. I decided on the Sharp ... read more

  • I think I am in love.

    Jan 26 '01
Pros: Wicked bass, good audio quality, very simple to use.
Cons: no remote, no back-lit display

Summary: So I decided to pick up a minidisc player via Yahoo Auctions, after reading some good reviews and discovering minidisc.org. Let me tell you folks this little recorder/player combo does the trick. First of all the price was right, $141.00 USD w/ shipping, ... read more

  • Wonderful Technology

    Dec 11 '00
    Pros: Pocketable, CD quality
Cons: Need to use good quality discs

Summary: I've tried a few different portable CD players in my car, but they all skipped. My car is an old diesel and it shakes a lot. Besides, CD players aren't all that portable. Early this year, I purchased the Sharp MT15 MD Recorder on-line from ... read more

  • Excellent value!

    Nov 28 '00
    Pros: too many to count!
Cons: the titling feature is tedious

Summary: I bought this product because when I went to Best Buy, they were out of the inexpensive Sony model I wanted originally... THANK GOODNESS! This model is GREAT! Not only is it good looking, it's very easy to use. Plus, it has a minidisc sized case, ... read more

  • Durable!

    Jun 01 '11
Pros: Obviously, it's durable. It's very portable.
Cons: Seems to have been a passing fad. Minidisc albums were on the market briefly.

Summary: I got my Sharp MD-MT15 for Christmas 1998. I had asked for an MP3 player, but this was a better buy. The digital MP3 players on the market at the time only held about 40 minutes of music. Well, 11 years have passed since then, and I'm still using it.
