Pros: Inexpensive service plan Cons: None yet
I haven't had any problems with customer service or with my Nokia phone, or with Cellular One. I purchased my phone in Sept 2002. The local coverage fits my needs. The plan is $39.99 a month and offers free unlimited weekends, plus 950 anytime minutes to...

Pros: None Cons: Reception is terrible, many dead spots!
CellularOne in NW PA is horrible. They have failed to provide adequate tower coverage, so the reception is horrible. There is constant static on the phone and it fades in and out randomly. More often than not, you become completely disconnected from...

Pros: The coverage is decent and you can have free long distance. Cons: Terrible customer service and unflexible plans
After having worked in the customer service industry, I can spot a quality customer service company and Cellular One is not one of them. After having been a customer for over five years, I called their customer service center to ask how I could upgrade...

Pros: Good coverage in town and on the interstate. No problems with customer service. Cons: poor coverage in very rural areas
We are on the local 1200 plan and have not had any problems with either coverage or our bills, with the exception of my daughter going over her minutes a couple of times. We have been with cellone for almost 10 years and have only had a couple of times ...

Pros: Might be only game in town in certain places. Cons: Very limited usage outside of home area and Horrible customer service attitude
Cellular one is a company aimed to service the mostly rural and suburban areas, although they do have a Clear across America plan that's similar to the large carriers like Verizon or Sprint PCS, none of the regular features will be available to you in ...

Pros: There weren't any. Cons: Much higher cost than expected from their salesperson's pitch.
Terrible service.
Most of the time the phone connections were unusable. We seldom got a connection that was even intelligible. The price was more than three times higher than their salesperson had estimated in his sales pitch (almost $400 per month rather than about ...

Pros: The Family Talk Plan is Wonderful for family members Cons: Their bills are terrible to read and the taxes are incredible.
Cellular One's (Cingular's)Family Talk plan is a great deal. For $42 a month ($29.95 plus tax) you and a friend or family member can talk indefinitely (local calls, of course). You can also talk to any local Cellular One or Cingular cell phone...

Pros: free calling, customer service Cons: quality of digital phones, the phone heats up after talking for 1 hour
When my husband decided we should have a cell phone he searched around and found Cellular One to have the best plan. We received our phone from them and were pleased. We began to have problems with the phone itself. They ended up replacing the digital...

Customer Service from Hell
by minao ,Aug 09 '04
Pros: NONE Cons: Everything
I first used Cellular One about 8 years ago and it was horrible, so I switched and vowed never to go there again. Along comes my kids and want an unlimited local plan. I decided to try and use them again, surely over the years they would have improved! WRONG! They are the rudest, most incompetent people I have ever met. Not only does it take anywhere from 4-6 trips to the office just to get anything done the way you ask, but then if you ever have to call their customer service, well lets just suffice to say I would rather talk to Satan himself. Forget asking to speak to a supervisor, obviously they don't exist. Either that or they just don't take calls. The reps are rude and totally incompetent. Its always someones else's mess-up and can't be fixed. I did learn something new though...if you put something in a computer, it can't be taken out. It becomes permanent. Can't be fixed. Just pay it!
Never never again!!!

wow... yet another HORRIBLE cellularone rating
by wrex_racing ,Sep 13 '05
Pros: None, Zero, Zilp, Zilch, Nada Cons: RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE, LOOOOOONG HOLD TIMES, LYING SALESMEN, EVERYTHING ELSE
I have had service through most all the major carriers by now(Sprint, AT&T, US Cellular, Verizon, T-Mobile, ect) and CellularOne remains at the bottom of the pile. The connection/reception was fair but did have a abnormally high amount of dropped calls. Sometimes people would call me and leave a message but I wouldnt recieve for hours even days later! The in store reps have no problems lying to your face in order to make a sale. Worst of all was the customer service. Be prepared for hour+ long hold times. Also, I have never gotten so angry over the phone talking to someone, and I was talking to a lead shift supervisor. EXTREMELY RUDE!!! They would not credit me back the lousy 15min I requested due to dropped calls from the previous month. WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH CELLULARONE AGAIN!!! I would even consider picketting infront of their store to thwart potential new customers from getting bent over with CellularOne.

Don't Use CellularOne.
by mooses111 ,May 14 '05
Pros: Not many Cons: Described above. Find another cellular provider.
I have had my contract with CellularOne for over a year. During this time I have made several phone calls a week from Louisville (which is in my extended area) to my home area. Until now I was never charged a roaming charge. The main reason I went with this plan is that the sales rep told me that I would not be charged roaming fees from Louisville to my home area. And over the last 15 months that has been true.
So I get the bill. Talk to the CellularOne rep at the 800 number. Their response is too bad, we can't guarantee that you will also be carried on one of our tours. They told me the phone would tell you if you were roaming or not. I asked them how I was supposed to notice if a call switched tours when I was holding it up to my ear. They said the indicator would change. Great answer.
They finally revoked the charge, but you can bet Monday a.m. I will be at the local office.
And if I incur roaming charges on the next bill I am going straight to the State Attorney General's office.
