Pros: Clarity, ease of use Cons: Some waiting for customer service
As a 50+ citizen getting my own cell phone for the first time, I walked into a Cingular store in 2001 and bought a plan with the cheapest phone, an Ericsson A1228d. Store staff were very helpful. The phone is plain and a bit heavy, but seems...

Pros: Decent Rate/phone plans Cons: Voicemail System is the worst!!
I was misinformed by a sales rep. when I first purchased the service. He told me that I had world wide coverage but when I was on vacation, my phone would not work, so I had to call and tell them to switch my plan to what it was suppose to be in the...

Pros: Inexpensive service, worked well within area. Cons: Worst customer service. Conflicting answers.
Purchased service and was told included Long Distance. Later received additional costs for calling long distance. Told was not included with my package after 3 other customer service people told me it was included. Asked to switch over to pre-paid usage....

Pros: The only "TRUE" nationwide cellular provider. No roaming or long-distance charges. Cons: Service isn't provided in all states.
Cingular cannot be compared to by the other providers. At least not the old plans. I don't have to look at those coverage maps and figure out if I'm standing in the blue-shaded area and I'm covered in my plan or if I'll be paying roaming charges at 50...

Pros: Fine if you don't need any customer service. Cons: Still charge you when they can't deliver!
My experience with Cingular Wireless has been extremely disappointing. In March 2003 my company relocated me from Overland Park, KS to Bellevue, WA. Due to differing technologies I was told that I could not simply transfer my current phone to Bellevue;...

Pros: Cheap Cons: Customer service is a nightmare
Let me first say that this has been the singular most frustrating, ridiculous customer service experience I have ever had.
My story: I was tasked with purchasing a pre-paid cell phone for the company where I work. I researched all the...

Pros: Rollover unused mins. Cons: Takes about 7 10 sec. to connect a call and customer service is not 24-7
Cingular is an all around good mobile provider. In the past I have had AT&T, Cricket and they were no good! I find with my Cingular phone I could compose my own ring tone because I have the Nokia 3395 and it provides service entirely to both North and...

Pros: Decent phone choice Cons: Everything else
I have been fighting with Cingular for FOUR MONTHS to get a damaged phone replaced through their insurance plan. They will only give you a refurbished phone, and for some models, they NEVER have them in stock. Their agents will lie to you to get you...

Pros: Fairly decent coverage Cons: Customer service is unbelievably inconsistent
Whatever you do, stay as far away from Cingular as you can. I have given these absolutely worthless tech support staffers and customer service reps a dozen chances -- all for naught. I've spent countless hours on the phone with them, being nice the...

Pros: Nice looking phone Cons: Nice looking phone doesn't work
Customer Service does not exist
Cingular must have a very special school they send their employees to. I believe this because NOBODY could naturally be as rude, condesending and arrogant as these people. I switched to Cingular because of their (at the time) unique plans. I would be...

I read some of these other reviews, and believe me, no one trashing this company is exaggerating.
Have you noticed how much money Cingular pays for advertising? That's because they spend next to nothing on Customer Service, Technical...
