Pros: There are no pros to Cingular. Cons: Customer Support representatives are rude and incompetent. No service after the sale!
I recently switched cell phone plans from Sprint to Cingular, and I have regretted EVERY minute of it so far. We have had their "service" for less than 2 weeks, and they are completely unable to make the wireless Internet feature work on my phone. Th ...

Pros: the phones make very effective paperweights, doorstops, hockey pucks, decorative centerpieces and garlic presses. Cons: Are not ideal for communicating between distances further than 20 feet.
You wont know the difference, trust me. Anyone using Cingular must have done something very bad in a past life. Very bad. I signed up for the family share thing (mistake #1) and got 4 phones in my husbands name (mistake #2). The salesman forogt to ...

Pros: None Cons: Unethical Business Practices, Unfair Contract Manipulation, Deplorable Service
Cingular Wireless is a ruthless company with no concern for customers of the companies they plow over. Last month, my fiancé and I moved to the other side of the state so she could go to grad school. When we arrived, we called up Cingular to see ...

Pros: Good phone signal. Cons: Bad business practices. Extremely rude customers service reps, including managers.
Well, here's my story. I have a prepaid phone which I activate once a year when my mom comes to visit me from Europe. I purchased the phone a year ago for about $90 and it came with about $30 - $50 worth of airtime at whatever the rate/minute was back ...

Pros: None Cons: Misleading, hard to read bills, unexplained calls on bill, bad customer service, shady business ethics.
Six months ago I switched from AT&T because their phones kept quitting on me and their customer service started going down hill. I had heard horror stories about Sprint so I decided to go with Cingular Wireless. My partner and I each got a phone with a r ...

Pros: Excellent Customer Service. They truly want to help. Cons: Poor rural SE Indiana coverage area and roaming charges.
I signed up for digital service with Cellular One in June, 2000. Cellular One later merged with another wireless phone service and became Cingular. I've worked with the Customer Service Department when they were Cellular One and more recently, Cingular....

Pros: Large coverage map Cons: customer service,billing, website
Cingular Wireless has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. 1st problem: I waited 1 month before activating my gophone(they said I had 60 days to active) and during that time my number was reassigned to someone else. After having numerous ...

Pros: No Roaming In My State of Residence Cons: Billing error issues--if you can't prove it, don't bother calling, it's a waste of time
I have a major problem with Cingular Wireless' billing system. I can't say 100% what, if anything is wrong, however, right now I am forced to log each and every call. I have a plan with 900 minutes and unlimited incoming calls, I am being billed for up...

Pros: Good coverage Cons: Rate plans;
Customer service;
Wireless internet
WHAT IS GOOD:
* Coverage, coverage and again coverage. It should not worry you if you live in a big megapolis and rarely come out (lots of local provides and providers with spot coverage will do). But if you live in place like NJ and go out to...

Pros: Inexpensive calling plans. Cons: Poor coverage.
Absolutely god-awful, rude, obnoxious Customer Service Reps
Several years ago, when I renewed my contract with Cingular (Boston), I received a new phone, specifically a Sony Ericsson T-60. From day one, the phone was terrible, and finally about 6 months ago it plain died. This is from usage of about 30 minutes ...

Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything
My title says it all. AT&T to Cingular. Recently I attempted to right a wrong with the "new" supposedly improved Cingular. I was not doing it for myself, but for a friend that has had an extreamly bad experience with Cingular. First of all, did you ...

Pros: Excellent at bouncing customers around on the phone with no resolution Cons: EVERYTHING
After about a month, one of the phones on our plan quit working. It shut off like the battery was dead and wouldn't turn back on. I called Customer Service who said the phone was under warranty and they would send me a new one. I should have known it ...

Pros: None. Cons: The delayed billing nonsense, pathetic CS and hidden charges that are tough to even imagine.
I recently disconnected the service. A month after disconnecting I received the final bill with roaming charges of $81 plus the $29 tax for the monthly charge billed extra. Considering that I was well below my 250 min/month limit, this was painful. The re ...

Pros: prompt service, savvy customer service reps
who gave me credits only when I called Cons: My agent,my customer rep, rebate program rep gave me the run-around on phone rebate
My Cingular agent who signed me up in Needham, MA told me they had no free phones available so they pushed a Samsung phone on me as the only available "free phone" they had stock of - it was "free" in a rebate program; you paid $50 for the phone and ...
