Pros: Unlimited for calls in your area and incoming long distance calls Cons: Just about everything.
The first attraction to this phone was the long monthly cost. There's a set rate of $50.00 a month and included are unlimited calls in your area. Also, if someone is calling you long distance, you don't incur any extra charges. Now, everyone has heard...
Pros: Unlimited Local Calls, Good Denver-area Coverage Cons: Fairly expensive long distance, lack-luster customer service
While looking around for a decent deal in wireless phone service, I have come across many companies, too many to list here. However none offer unlimited local calls except (recently) Qwest. Problem is, their phone selection is very limited, (Only a...
Pros: cheap if you don't need to make long distance calls, unlimited minutes Cons: customer service is computerized, static sometimes
I decided to get my cell service from Cricket about a year ago, when I got a new job that was an hour away from my house. I didn't need anything fancy, nor did I want to worry about minutes (anytime vs. night/evening). I use a Sam's Club calling card if...

Pros: Service sort of works, sometimes Cons: DO NOT USE AUTOPAY, will withdraw money whenever they see fit
I am in the middle of a nightmare not of my own doing and the big companies responsible don’t seem to care or want to help me resolve it. It IS entirely Cricket's fault, and they could care less. I've been a Cricket customer for five years, and never ...
Pros: Unlimited calls(when able to call) Cons: no service area, horrible rates when add on "features",not reliable

Pros: Cheaper service than many plans Cons: Terrible customer service even at the Corporate level
I thought I was getting a bargain when I signed up with Cricket wireless. The $29.95 monthly fee and a $40 rebate for the cell phone was a great deal. Last month, my bill went up (without notice--which is against Cricket's policy) to $37.89. Okay, so...
Pros: Unlimited incoming calls (anytime) and unlimited anytime calls in your service area. Cons: Customer service will not fix most errors. Expect random charges to appear on your bill!

First of all, cricket users, question everything! Go check...
Pros: Low cost, unlimited minutes, no"hidden charges", clearly outperforms any"billed by the minute" phone plans Cons: If you need a roaming service, this isn't for you.

Pros: Unlimited local minutes Cons: Pathetic customer service. Calls from other cricket users don't always get through.
I’ve had my phone for almost 8 months, and still no sign of the promotional rebate I was anticipating. The customer service representatives (many of whom are extremely rude) either give me phony numbers to call, or say they'll look into it. I do not...
Pros: No hidden costs, superior call quality, CDMA digital service, no credit check. Cons: No roaming.
We use a Sprint PCS phone and a Cricket phone. Our Cricket phone consistently gets better reception with less dropped calls than our Sprint. The only reason we have a Sprint is because our Cricket phone is useless outside our "calling area".

We have been fighting with Cricket since October 24, 2002 and we still haven't gotten satisfaction. Finally, in January of 2003 a corporate idiot called me and said, "Oh yes, you are right, we DID take multiple payments from your bank account, and we...

Pros: Unlimited local calls with 500 minutes of long distance CHEAP! Cons: Same as all the rest, occasional dropped calls, NO roaming at all....EVER!
I chose Cricket after stints with SprintPCS, Nextel, Alltel, Verizon, and Voicestram. Why? Primarily the unlimited local service. I LIVE on my cell for work and home, so the appeal of unlimited service for $32.99 per month was huge! Two months after...
You know that nice 30 day 'free' trial they give you...well, it ain't free. I just got off the phone with cricket, and I was told that I'm on 'post-pay', so I need to pay them more money to get my phone turned back on. Now this is after I payed $60.00...

Pros: Unlimited minutes (long distance and local) Unlimited text messages, caller id, call waiting Cons: Service unreliable, cuts out all the time, customer service is located in another country
I am a Cricket customer of only 2 months now and am not happy with the service. I got the first month free after paying $100 for the phone nad free activation. Those things are nothing in comparison to what I've dealt with. From time to time I try tot ...
Pros: Low flat rate for phone service. Cons: Features cost extra, customer service lacking.
I'm 23 and fresh out of college. When I made that decision to finally get a cell phone, I went to some other big name providers and was told I would need to put down a $200-500 deposit because I had no credit. (Not BAD credit, just NO credit). So I...
Welcome to Cricket, now BEND OVER by ricksky ,Sep 18 '08
Pros: They are not verizon
Cons: see above
All cell phone companies are the same, with that in mind, Cricket sucks! 1) You can only call 1-800-crciket twice a month, but when you call the 3rd you just sit on hold, and no one or no computer tells you that no one will pick up.
2) My Motorola V3 keypad stopped working after less than 60 days after, and even thought I have insurance, I had to pay $45 to replace the phone!
I was told "I don't make the rules, you don't have to do this if you don't want to."
3) When you go to their store, you will sit in an uncomfortable plastic chair for 1 hour waiting for some help.
4) they Nickel & Dime you to death, and charge extra for everything, including insurace, which apparently is not as good as they say. They only tell you the good stuff when you first sign up, and when you have a problem THEN they tell you the bad stuff, and that the bad stuff is listed in the pamphlet they give you.
Cricket is full of bugs by mary64chicago ,Feb 24 '09
Pros: concept is wonderful pretty color ad advertising Cons: horrible inept service terrible tech support no refunds even less then a week
Concept is great, follow thru NOT. Second day I had the phone, my child's school could not reach me. When they dialed the number came out as unknown number. I could call in, they could not call me back. I went into school, showed the dean what happens.
After being hung up on by tech support 4 times, writing an email no response. I went to the place I purchased it, when the store tried to call their rep, their phone said it was unknown number.
I have now gone with us cellular, its a lil more money but very reliable.
Cricket works great in Portland! by liberty1225 ,Apr 08 '07
Pros: Great service, few dropped calls, flat rate. Cons: Had to pay $199 for the phone.
I switched from Cingular and I can tell you that I have dropped a lot less calls with Cricket. Their service downtown is a lot better and I usually have better service than my girlfriend who has Verizon. Unlimited local and long distance. I'm glad I made the switch.
Pros:NONE : You get LESS than what you paid for !! Cons: the company itself
Mi real name is Monica Lasso and I called 4 times today to cust service cause my phone doesnt work. the most stupid peolple in the planet working at Cricket, they are unble to fix any problem, as simple as it gets they even told me that "I" changed my phone yesterday, even if I didn't the representative said that I did . W T F ???
tomorrow I'm fixing this problem by switching carrier.
Pros: absolutely none, bad connection, no service, not just bad service, absolutely zero service. Cons: everything, don't sign up with them, you will be glad you did not!!
no one answer the phone on customer support, cannot even close account, worst experience ever with any company.
signed up to avoid cox, now i wish i have cox all along..
Pros: cheap unlimited plan Cons: crap internet, crap customer service, crap over priced phones,
There phones are way over priced, their 3G internet acess is horrible. Can't get on most sites like you would be able to with verizon or t-mobile. What's funny is I'll have full bars without moving anywhere, and as soon as i make the call.. the bars magically disappear. Same with the internet, it will say 3G and then when i try to use it, the phone won't get on and switches to 1x for net access. The only good thing is that's it's cheap for unlimited phone calls, but they will nickel and dime you for any other feature. I also get connection errors when sending text in full bars.. i called on it a few times and they "refresh" my phone which does nothing what so ever.
I purchased the pre-paid Cricket Broadband service for my Apple MacBook and it works great. I got the A600 modem. Easy to buy, setup and use. They give you 2 free days to try it out. It worked well around town here in Albuquerque NM so I bought a top-up card and I am good to go for a month. Getting 750 Kbps down and 120 Kbps up. Perfectly adequate for general Web browsing. I do recommend it.
Pros: Extremely easy to get service . . . Cons: . . . can my 8 year old get his own phone without my permission?
After my daughter abused her cell phone privileges several months ago, I took away her Cricket phone and canceled her service. But, now, apparently, Cricket no longer requires users to sign a contract, so my 14-year-old daughter was able to set up her own service without a parent's permission! I called again to cancel her service, as she is a minor and as such cannot enter into a legal and binding contract, and I do not want her to have a cell phone. After the hassle of trying to get a LIVE customer service representative to talk to me (they make it VERY difficult), I was told by three people that the only person who could cancel the service was the person on the bill--a minor. As a parent, they told me, I cannot cancel the contract--because there "is no contract"!! BE VERY WARY of this company's very poor customer service and the fact that it caters to minors to the EXCLUSION of their parents!!!
Pros: PROS at ripping people off Cons: Customer Service is from ex-con artists
When I activated my Cricket phone, I was told by the csr that if I paid monthly by credit card, they would give me a $55 credit toward my monthly bills. I gave the rep my card info and he said all was well. Two weeks later I get a paper bill from Cricket for the amount of $67. plus 55 cents for them mailing the bill. When I called the csr's at the help desk they said they had no credit card info on their computer screens. I was told there was nothing they could do. I asked to talk to their manager who came eventually. He said that it was too bad and actually accused me of lying about what the first csr did. Then he said there was no way to find out who it was. Finally he offered to disconnect service. This would cost me $130 (phone) plus $67 (first bill) plus $150 for cancellation of service contract. $347! I had used the phone 20 days.
Cricket needs to have it's legs pulled off! by stjeff ,Jan 08 '05
Pros: The Price $45 a month.
Completely automated no customer service. Cons: Voice mail doesn't work.
Won't call other cell phones (by design I'm sure).
Tried this servce, but I think I need to look for another service.
The price is fine around $45 a month. The Phone is fine(should have got a flip instead of this Nokia).
The service is what stinks.
I have actually got voice mail up to a week after a caller left it.
Try explaining to someone you just got their voice mail, when they called you the previous week. They won't believe it. Also when I try and call other cell phones, it sais there long distance and I haven't paid my bill hahah Since it goes automatic onto my credit card. Either try another service, or forget cell phones all together for awhile.
Pros: Month to Month type contract; not long term. Rebate after 90 days of service. Cons: Failure to maintain cell signal for cell service activation. Makes you wonder if ..
I tried four times to activate cell phone service by dialing their 611 number on a Cricket phone call the Phantom. I dialed the various dialing selections three times and the signal was lost. During the third call, the representative was smart enough to take a phone number to call me back in case we lost the connection. That was at about 10am this morning; it's now about 3:15pm. I guess he wasn't able to call back; I presume the rep was smart enough to do that.
The fourth time I called, I spoke to Arturo who did not know how to check and see if the information I had thrice given was in the system. I would think it is somewhere in their system; the reps have just got to be showing a call history in some kind of data bank, in some kind of form, so that call center mangers can monitor progress, study trends of calls and call types.
I do not recommend this company for cell phone service.
I do not recommend this company for cell phone service.
Pros: You get unlimited local calling Cons: The service area is to limited.
My experience using this product is not very good. I bought this product for the unlimited calling. But I did not realize that the service is so limited. I do not get service except in my town. For the amount of money I spent a month not having service is unexceptable.
Pros: Unlimited minutes for a flat rate Cons: I hear there is spotty coverage in places, though I have not experienced this.
I love the flat rate, it has saved me BUNDLES of money. My daughter used to go over her minutes with my old service every single month costing me lots of cash. But now she can't because there is no limit! I LOVE IT.
