Pros: None Cons: Very long hold times (can be well over 3 hours)
I had two old i1000 Nextel phones and decided to re-up with their service after a couple of years with other services because I needed the direct connect option along with two-way text messaging. When I re-activated my service I was told that my old...
Pros: direct connect
rate plans Cons: HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
My husband and I chose Nextel thinking that we could avoid some of our cellular expense by using the Nextel direct connect. If only we had known about the service behind the technology. I ordered my phone first through Nextel. All seemed well, that...
I am writing this review because it was my worst ever experience! I had very similar experiences as the first reviewer (pegdubuc, dated March 12, 2002) regarding Nextel -- virtually no customer service, extremely long wait times (in hours), dealing with...
Nextel has worst customer service I have ever experienced!!! If you ask a question online, they make you call. Once you call, expect to be transferred several times and hold for 10-20 minutes or longer. If you are lucky enough to talk to someone, they...
Just a very short recap of my terrible experience with them: Bought a phone off their website, backlight didn't work, sent it back for an exchange. They sent me a new phone, already activated, and started billing me for two phones (and charged me the $ ...
Pros: NONE AT ALL Cons: Longest HOLD times of any cellular service provider. Rudest customer "service" reps.
All I wanted to do was cancel my contract AFTER my 2-year Agreement was up. I'm moving, and don't have a need for Direct Connect anymore, not to mention the phones are huge and cumbersome and don't have the extra features found in most cell phones. ...
Pros: Pros????? You mean, the good part? HA! FUNNY! Cons: EVERYTHING POSSIBLE.
My review of Nextel will be short and to the point because there is just no use in wasting my time explaining EVERY detail of why they are so horrible. Not to mention the fact that apparently LOTS of other people have already written reviews on how ...
Pros: Two-way Radio Cons: Company illegally writes new contracts without YOUR permission!
I was a very happy user of Nextel Communications for almost 3 years. I would have continued to recommend their products if one thing hadn't occurred... In February of 2004 I went to work for a new company which required me to use Sprint for cellular ...
Pros: Phone works, good signal strength, free incoming and long distance, no roaming. Cons: Really, really bad customer service and policies.
Worst "customer service" on the planet. Ordering online is easy. Then hold on while they jerk you around as much as possible. Inept staff set up my account wrong AND charged me a $500 deposit in error. Still waiting to get my money back since Feb. 04. ...
I have been with Nextel for just over a year... I have been happy with the phone service. The phone works in places that my friends cell phones do not, and I don't feel like I've had a lot of dropped calls. I called Nextel yesterday to see about ...
My experience with Nextel has been absolute HELL! I used their services for my business. For several of my employees, I requested the most basic plan; walkie talkie only and cellular calls restricted. When I received my bills, I noticed different fees ...
Pros: Low cost if you use it only as an emergency phone or are nearly mute Cons: add on services make it the most expensive cell phone option available.
My 15 year old son was infatuated with a particular brand of cell phone which was available from Boost Mobile, the pre-paid cellular division of Nextel. They seem to market predominantly to inner city minority groups (see Boost television ads), but my ...
Terrible Problems Over Past Year by vikingdave ,Sep 05 '05
Pros: Lots of marketing promises Cons: Promises fall far short in the real world
Nextel Motorola i830 GPS works sporadically, battery life is very short, Nextel online addressbook feature is a nightmare to configure and transfer to phone (and I understand databases well). Sent in forms for autopay from my checking, wasn't done after 3 months of waiting. Tonight, after Sprint merger, Sprint tech I was connected with from Nextel's website couldn't help me and DIDN'T EVEN HAVE NEXTEL'S DIRECT SUPPORT NUMBER! Finally got it elsewhere, then support was CLOSED at 10pm MST! Nextel services look good on paper, work very poorly in fact. Hopefully, Sprint acquisition will help matters.
This is worse than 800MHz analog ever was by raypendergraph ,Jan 29 '04
Pros: Good voice mail system, two way feature is nice Cons: Bad battery life, bad coverage, expensive, buggy service
I had a Nextel for a year. Many of my friends are required to have Nextel (contractors) so I figured what the heck... bad mistake. The best part about this service is the two way radio, the phone part of the service is very poor. Conversations where one person can hear the other but cannot speak, terminated calls that still rack up minutes, and very patchy service. Another annoying thing is that the type of radio that's used (the underlying technology) requires a lot of power (at least more power than a Sprint or Verizon phone in PCS or 1X mode) and the battery life on the phones SUCK. That is one of the main complaints about Nextel phones. I am constantly being told, "I'll call you back my phone is about to die." by my Nextel subscribing friends. Unless you are a contractor or other professional and need the radio feature, stay away from Nextel until they get all their crap worked out. One good thing about the service is they had a descent voice mail system.
Nextel Service/Customer Service is PATHETIC! by jdel30 ,Jul 21 '05
Pros: Not ONE! Cons: The poorest of service. Includes hardware, software and, customer service
Myself, my wife and my brother and two friends have NEXTEL Celluar service. I have on more than 5 occassions called to complain about teh lack of service, the inadaquate equipment, and even moreso, customer service of the worst kind! It seems especially so since their name went all over the NASCAR billboards. I am at my end with these people and I am now going to persue a lawsuit in order to vacate my contract. They also need suit for false advertising. If you or anyone you know is even remotely considering using this company for their phone service, please do not let them!
