Pros: Good reliable Coverage. Great phones. Nice options. Good customer service. Cons: Rate plans are competitive but may start at a higher price.
» Why did you choose this service?
I was a Cingular subscriber for two years. The service was fine in Long Beach and Los Angeles, but horrendous in Davis and Sacramento (especially Davis, where I reside). I
would always have dropped...
Pros: Controllable, Budgetable Plans Cons: Doesn't work in Podunk.
I'm using the heck out the digital, wide-area 2-way radio. I'm now able to communicate with 100 Northern CA and Northern NV business contacts, clients, vendors, agents and associates without the clock even ticking. Plus, for the first time in the history...
Pros: Can use digital 2-way radio to talk to industry associates and colleages Cons: Currently cannot interconnect between NBNs, for example, Business Network subscribers cannot 2-way with Builders Network subscribers.
In simple terms, a Nextel Business Network is a large fleet set up to support a specific industry, such as Builders, Real Estate Agents, or Transportation. Nextel Business Networks represent the most simple, cost effective way to be in touch with the...
Pros: People at the store are nice. The phones are really cool. Cons: No service where they said there would be. And just TRY to discontinue your service!
We went to the Nextel store a couple of days after Thanksgiving and got our phones. Motorola i90 is really cool. The only drawback to the whole thing was that while they told us (verbally of course - and did we look at the coverage area here on the...
Pros: Reception is good when you are in range. Cons: Plans are expensive There is no customer service at Nextel. Buyer Beware!
I did not buy from the overpriced Nextel outlet. I made the mistake of going calling Nextel "telesales" after having trouble buying my phones on the Nextel web site. I was assured of having bought two new plans and phones. When an inquiry was made ...
Pros: Great phone if you don't want to talk to anyone Cons: Completely useless. Better off with a CB radio.
These guys used to be "professional grade" but in the last 8 months this service has turned to garbage. Dropped/missed calls, expensive phones and "no service" right in the middle of town. Thanks sprint!
Pros: Excellent Reception
Wide variety of phones and services
Easy to change service plans Cons: More expensive than some competitors (gap has narrowed recently);
Quality of customer service varies
I have been a customer for nearly two years and recently upgraded my service plan and phone with a 2 year contract (from an i90c to a i730). Any premium that you pay over lower cost service providers is well worth it in my opinion.
I have used the phone mostly in Davis and West Sacramento, where the coverage is generally excellent. Reception in and around the city of Sacramento and the airport is good. I have only experienced a handful of dropped calls in nearly two years (most during thunderstorms). I have recently started commuting to Novato via I-80 to Hwy 37. I often lose reception around 5 miles west of Vallejo until around halfway through the part of Hwy 37 that is one-lane going through the Delta, although my understanding is that dropped calls are typical of all carriers in that area. All-in-all, Nextel's reception cannot be beat in the Sacramento and the North Bay areas (I had Verizon for two years before Nextel).
