Pros: free options, online account management, diverse plans and phones Cons: dropped calls, hard to get a signal, long wait for customer service
UPDATE on 4/06/02: I've updated the Phones section to include new information.
This is a VERY long review. I tried to include everything that I feel is useful to someone who is considering going to Sprint. If I've missed anything,...
Pros: All digital quality voice network, with extremely accessable data network. Incredibly cool mobile handsets. Cons: A bit pricier than other providers. PCS means more limited coverage areas and conditions
This is my second review of Sprint PCS service in New York, among other places (detailed later.) The first one I wrote was in 2001, shortly after first becoming a Sprint customer. Stuff has changed since then. Time to update! Today, I’ve had ...
Pros: Excellent sound, no busy signals, low rates, web enabled phone, online access to account Cons: Long waits on hold for customer service but they are helpful and friendly
Subject: Sprint Advantage Plan in New York Metro Area
Recently I ditched my AT&T Digital Service and up-graded my wife's Sprint phone and service after receiving a couple of pretty irresistible offers from Sprint. Although my AT&T...
Pros: Consistent service, inexpensive Cons: Spotty coverage in the hinterland, some signal issues
I've carried a cell phone for a long time. As an on-call software consultant, I first got a mobile phone when they were only nominally smaller than a lineman's handset. At the time, service was through AT&T and airtime minutes cost a little over a...
Pros: Very clear, easy to read bill, free sprint to sprint features, very clear sound quality Cons: no sms messaging for cross platform, too many inboxes and redundant features
I hate cell phones, but it's one of those things that I need. I will try my best to talk as little ...
Pros: affordable long distance service , first incoming minute free; add a phone plan Cons: Customer Service causes more problems than it solves
I am going to be blunt and to the point.
Sprint has the worst Customer Service Representatives or "advocates" as they call them, that I have ever experienced with any company.
I am sure no one wants to read all the details of my...
Pros: CLEAR - sounds like a land line Cons: Little coverage if you're out of the metro areas
I signed up for a year with SprintPCS because I couldn't resist the value. For $29.99 I got 250 anytime minutes + 250 off-peak minutes; FREE long distance; 6 months free wireless web, and four $25 credits on my first four invoices.
Pros: Affordable, my situation keeps extra costs down, risk-free Cons: All wireless service is NERVOUS in NYC, 200/800/$30 not advertised
200 Peak / 800 Off-Peak for $30 AKA "the Radio Shack Special," without annual contract, is perfect for a twenty-something design professional like me. This plan, as offered by Radio Shack to new users, plus taxes is about $42/mo. This plan...
Pros: Flexible contracts, clear voices, good off peak hours, no busy tones Cons: Limited coverage, occasional dropped calls, customer service always busy
I don't know where epinions got their numbers, but this $29.99 plan gives you 180 anytime minutes, not 100 as stated in the product description. As someone who works during the entire peak period as defined by Sprint (M-Th 7-8, and 7-7 on Fri) I was...
Pros: Lots of minutes. Cons: Poor reception, terrible customer service.
Having a cell phone in NY can be a frustrating experience, dropped calls, no service areas, and poor signals. But I have never had so much grief with a cell phone until I met SPRINT PCS. I chose this service because it offered the most minutes for the...
Pros: Nationwide long distance & coverage, price, automatic payment Cons: Unreliable service in some areas, poor customer service
I've been a Sprint PCS customer for about three years now and primarily use my phone (a Motorola Startac) in the New York City area. My current plan costs $39.99 per month and includes 350 peak minutes and 2150 off-peak minutes to anywhere in the U.S....
As much as I hate to admit it, I am more or less satisfied with my Sprint plan, despite customer service that ranks amongst the lowest of low. Coverage is adequate; calls get through fairly successfully, even in crowded Manhattan; and sound quality is...
Pros: Good plans and coverage Cons: Incompetence runs rampant at Sprint
Well it was time to switch cellular service plans. My old cellular company, Omnipoint, was bought by VoiceStream Wireless and they eliminated many of their plans. So I began to research other companies to find a good fit for me and my girlfriend. My...
Pros: Clear, well priced. Cons: Too many dropped calls.
I think people have been particulary harsh on cell phone service all around and there's probably a very good reason for it. All these providers are very clearly more interested in grabbing market share rather than providing the best service...
Pros: Price is competitive Cons: Fail to deliver service, aggressive charging
Bad service, followed by aggressive attempts to collect after the phone was returned. Several months after I activated the dual-mode Sprint phone I bought as a birthday present (from Radio Shack), calls stopped going through.
Pros: cheap rates, good voice quality Cons: limited availability, customer support lousy
When choosing a phone service provider, take your time, breathe, relax. Buying a cellphone can either be the best thing ever or a total nightmare. In choosing Sprint, I would say you'll probably get the nightmare.
Pros: competitive rates, reliable service, cutting edge options Cons: long hold times with customer solutions, sometimes transferred around to other reps
To begin, let me say that I am a current and former Sprint PCS customer. My current service, which is most important, has been active for six months. However, since I am a heavy wireless user, I feel qualified to make a statement of the quality of ...
Pros: Good coverage in the city, improving service Cons: Expensive analog service
I remember when Sprint was awful, and my friends kept trying to pawn their PCS phones off on me in the rush to switch to Bell Atlantic or AT&T. What we've learned since then is that no mobile service is great, but that some of them try harder. ...
Pros: The phones themselves are nice. Cons: TO NUMEROUS TO COUNT
My husband and I both have Sprint PCS cell phone service. First thing I will say right up front. It sounded like a Great deal, but IT'S NOT!!! Don’t be fooled! We have had our phones and the sprint service for a little over a year. We bought our phone ...
Pros: billing is clear; phone is compact Cons: service is terrible; holes in coverage
Long story. Here goes.
In January of 1998, my wife and I decided to get a mobile phone. We lived, at the time, in Albany, New York, and went to Crossgates Mall, between Albany and Guilderland, to buy a Sprint PCS plan from the Sprint store...
Pros: NOTHING! Cons: bad phone, bad service, rude sales rep.
Hi,
My two parents and I have all been on the Sprint "Free and Clear" (yeah right) plan for quite a while. Were were told that it was the best service for where we live (Long Island) and that the phones given to us were very good....
Pros: Supposedly superior sound, but not having used others carriers, I can't comment on that personally. Cons: Dropped calls, can't receive any calls in my apt., cust. service support line
I bought my first cell phone about 8 months ago and decided to go with Sprint, since from what I'd read in Epinions, it not only seemed to have the best overall sound quality, but it was suggested that it would only get better as Sprint added more sound...
Pros: clear lines, few dropped calls, good coverage, good # of minutes Cons: poor customer service, no free phone, to get a good plan you have to catch them on promotion.
I've been using Sprint PCS for over a year now and I must say I'm pretty happy with the service I've received. The lines are clear almost 95% of the time. If the line is muffled it's usually during a rain storm or its too windy outside. My home phone up...
Pros: no hassle, cheap, good service, good connection, good customer service Cons: doesn't work in the subway
I've had a cell phone plan with Sprint for a little over two years now and I must say I am impressed with the service, price, and customer service. I initially joined Sprint because all of my friends recommended it. I went to a Sprint store in Manhattan...
Pros: Good clarity, east coast coverage Cons: Bad customer service
The service is good for coverage, reliability, clarity, and price. If you live on the east coast, coverage is very good. [If you live anywhere else, however, good luck.] The clarity has been excellent, although I wish I could get a signal in the subway...
Pros: very dependable service Cons: They were annoying about a late bill
Last September there was a huge storm in the tri-state area and most cell phones and regular home phones in NJ were out for a few days! With Sprint PCS, I could not get incoming calls, but could still make outbound. In an emergency during that time, I...
Pros: Great deals, excellent pricing, innovative options Cons: Great variance in service and in phones, poor customer service
Sprint has some fantastic options, plans, and pricing. 18 months ago when I first signed up for Sprint I was able to get 180 minutes for $29.99 that included nationwide long distance, no roaming away from home area (so long as it's on Sprint PCS...
Pros: Crystal Clear calls, Lots of PCS features, Wireless Web Cons: No switching between Analog and Digital, limited digital service.
For those of you ready to take the plunge for the first time or for those of you thinking of switching to another company, you need to know the facts about Sprint!
First, when you are in a good coverage area you get crystal clear calls. I...
I originally chose SPRINT PCS because the price was good and they advertised that their all digital network was so great and they had coverage in other cities that I visit. At the time I got free first incoming minute and free nights and weekends. ...
Pros: Cheap Cons: Spotty coverage, long customer service waits.
Cost, Coverage and Clarity are the three major items you should evaluate when considering a cellular phone service provider. These things were on my mind when I signed up for Sprints PCS Digital phone service last year. In that time frame my...
Pros: Easy setup and connection, fast shipping of equipment. Cons: Customer service, signal strength, billing errors.
Once upon a time there was a cell phone service provider that was very, very bad... (I always wanted to start an Epinion this way.) AT&T did it - AGAIN. Billed me for nights and weekends. Backdated the end of a promotional free minute program to the...
Pros: decent service, great reception (most of the time) and huge network Cons: you have to buy a new phone just about every year
(updated portions on the bottom)
I've been an avid Sprint user for just about two years now. I can say that for my first phone, I have no complaints about it in general. It has some great features, is brainless to use and can access at least...
Pros: EXCELLENT SERVICE & competitive cost with no annual contract Cons: You can be reached anytime, anywhere with Sprint PCS
After having been with AT&T for almost 4 years, I found that AT&T's service was lacking (they were becoming arrogant in their field) and the cost of service was grossly overrated. I made the decision to switch to Sprint, and have been pleased...
Pros: No contract required, promotions all the time, free calls to NY metro area codes Cons: Incomplete calls, dropped calls, weak signal in city
First let me tell you what I like about Sprint PCS: no annual contract requirement. This means at least two advantages: 1) you can leave the plan any time (although your Sprint PCS phone cannot be used on any other network), and 2) you can switch to a...
Pros: Good value for the minutes - good online account management. Cons: "Roaming" in Manhattan, dropped calls, "Network currently busy", ETC!
I really didn't have any problems with Sprint for the first 6 months or so (I signed up in July 2001), or at least, the problems I had, such as dropped calls, occasional Analog roaming in Manhattan, were infrequent enough to discount as unavoidable...
Pros: available options for plans, good phone selection Cons: HORRIBLE customer service
Ok, I've had my phone for 4 days now and already have had to call up for customer support 7 times to make sure my plan is set up correctly. Without much experience actually talking on the phone in many areas during many different times of the day, this...
Pros: Competitively priced, no roaming fees where digital service Cons: poor digital coverage in suburbs, extra charge for analog
Sprint's system provides reasonably good coverage in Manhattan and most of the five boroughs. But digital coverage in Westchester County, at least as of six months ago, was pretty pathetic. I found that there were areas in Westchester, for example, the...
Pros: Plans flexible, good coverage, good reception, customer service friendly and quick Cons: The phones they sell are expensive in my opinion.
I've been wanting to get a cell phone for a while now. I finally did at the beginning of this year. I figured, "What the heck?" because I got the phone itself for nothing once my brother moved out and didn't want to pay for both a land-line and a cell...
Pros: Month-to-month plan, good value for money Cons: Terrible customer service
My friends recommended SprintPCS as it was the only provider with a month-to-month plan in New York. They assured me that the service was pretty decent, compared to the other operators. So I got the $29.99 180 minutes long-distance plan with a...
Pros: online services, good plans, clear sound Cons: dropped calls, spotty coverage in some areas
Let me give you my specific PROS and CONS for the service providers.
In terms of sound quality, Sprint PCS is clearer, it's all digital. I admit that. However, it is only limited to a good coverage area. If metropolitan area or a big city are...
Pros: Great Promotions, Awesome Phones, Static Free, and Good Plans Cons: Dropped calls, Echo, Signal Strength, Cus. Support
I have been a Sprint PCS customer for about a year and half now. When I signed up, they had some of the most competitive plans available. You really got your moneys worth in minutes. Plus they had some of the hottest phones on the market. It was hard...
Pros: add-a-phone option allows time-sharing. Good plans Cons: terrible call quality, horrible customer service, contempt for customers
The Customer Service is so bad that they have an armed guard in their store in Paramus, NJ. By the time you actually get to the store (after several useless calls to customer service) you will be quite irate. You will then understand why they have a...
I have been using Sprint PCS in New York City for nearly three years (also have used AT & T and Bell Atlantic...now Verizon) Why have I used Sprint for so long if I think they are so bad? Long story...because of work, and also purchasing a $600...
Pros: When it works, the phone call is as good as analog. Cons: It usually does not work for long. It's frequency is highly energetic and may be dangerous.ic
I purchased a service contract for sprint free and clear 99.99 bundled package. Sprint is not being honest with their service and even the hardware. Here is why. One, historically, it should be known that Sprint promised to be the company "without...
Pros: No contract to sign, allows you to hear how many minutes you have left each month, first incoming minute is free Cons: Service is not so great on the train and in some train stations
I went to Radio Shack last month with the intent to sign up for the Sprint PCS Free and Clear Plan. The service representative talked me out of that plan because I don't use a lot of long distance. Instead, I signed up for the Standard Plan with 500...
Pros: Good prices and coverage Cons: Customer service
First good thing about Sprint PCS is the "home area" coverage. Most of the mobile services offer a very small basic home area. If you call to or from your extended home area, you're paying extra charges. Sprint PCS covers NYC, big part of CT and half...
Pros: Everything you could ever want is included in the plan, low cost with more minutes than other plans, Nationwide long distance is included too! Cons: A one time $29.99 activation fee
Sprint Free and Clear Mobile Phone Service is the best discovery I've made this whole year. I can tell you, I had a Nokia Cellular Phone with Cellular One Mobile Phone Service for three years and what a waste of money that was! I was getting charged...
Pros: great service, quality, and value Cons: I didn't find it sooner
I have used them all, Bell Atlantic, Nextel, At&t, Verizon....., you name the cell phone company, and I have used them, and they all blow chunks. The, I found sprint. I use my cell phone primarily for business, so the service is extremely important...
Sprint is really a great service, much better than at&t. I recently hooked up with sprint from a friend of mine.My plan includes 1000 minutes for $30.00 a month which is not bad at all considering you get great service when you're out of state.The...
Pros: Cheap
Clear when the calls go through Cons: Dropped Calls
Calls routed directly into voice mail
Poor indoor reception
I was originally on ATT three years ago, but as soon as that contract expired, I left because the reception was terrible and calls hardly ever went through.
Since I had been a long time Sprint residential customer, I figured Sprint PCS may not...
Pros: 180 Minutes,Great customer service Cons: static from time to time
Sprints cell phone plans are pretty good. You get 180 minutes every month, nights and weekends are free. You get some static from time to time, but I don't know any service providers that you don't get static from time to time.
The plan is...
Pros: Competitive rates Cons: Shoddy coverage, abysmal customer service
I live in Manhattan and have put up with Sprint's horrible service for nearly two years now. I recently switched to Verizon and am amazed at the difference -- I actually get a signal in all parts of the city and customer service provides exactly that....
Pros: Reasonable Plan Options, Great Promotions, Good Coverage in Major Cities Cons: CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!
I choose Sprint because they had plans that were affordable and met my needs. They also offer free long distance. In September 2000 I signed up for 250 anytime/250 nights & weekends for $29.99, with tax it came to $37.46.
Pros: clear, long battery life, internet, email Cons: spotty service but growing rapidly
I have had this service for the last 3 years now and it is the only one i will ever have. Sprint Pcs has great customer service, and great price plans to fit every need. No year long contract at all, you can change you plan each month if you want to. The...
Pros: Large amount of minutes, great long-distance deal Cons: Some dropped calls, dead zones
I live out in Suffolk County, Long Island, and for the most part, Sprint PCS has been good to me. I currently use my cell phone primarily for emergencies and sometimes for long-distance, but in a few months, this phone will be my only phone. I will...
Pros: Wide variety of phones. Nationwide plan with Canada options available Cons: Poor customer service. Poor customer service response. Poor reception in areas.
SprintPCS seems to have more miscellaneous charges than some other service providers.
I had SprintPCS, until recently for about 2.5 years. About a month ago, late October or early November I attempted to switch into a promotional plan for...
Pros: Free long distance, nice phones Cons: Dropped calls, spotty service, poor customer support, and no flexibility for existing customers
Although I was reluctant to get a cell phone, I was initially duped into Sprint through the appeal of no contract and free long distance, the latter being particularly beneficial for someone who criss-crosses the country regularly. When I first signed...
Pros: Lots of night and weekend minutes, if that's what you want. Cons: If you ever want something from sprint, like customer service, good luck.
so i walk into the sprint pcs store and the guy tells me that I can have a 14 day trial period to use my phone...so I agreed...without signing a thing. A day later, i find that verizon is offering a better plan so I go with them. I go to return the...
Pros: Plenty of Talk Time For a Good Price And They Let you Upgrade To The Holiday Specials. Cons: Customer Service Much To Be Desired.
I have been with Sprint since August 2000, and have had a few problems, mostly due to the stupidity and lack of training that their customer advocates offer. Like, when I switched equipment on two phones, the advocate got the two electronic serial numbers...
Pros: Lots of minutes, no contract Cons: Dropped calls are too frequent
I thought I got a great deal $29 for 180 minutes & 500 on weekends & evenings, a small phone was only 50 dollars and no contract. One problem
way too many dropped call from my home area in Brooklyn.Strange but this almost never happens when...
Pros: None Cons: Bad Service, Expensive Phones, Rude and Unhelpful Customer Service.
I have had Sprint PCS service for a year now. The advertising definitely hooked me. In addition, my boyfriend already had the service and they had some kind of plan sharing program. The idea of having nationwide service for one rate seemed enticing as...
Pros: Personalize Plan Cons: Coverage but getting better
People are very down with Sprint and there calling plans. I am not sure many people know but Sprint has opened many knew digital towers around new jersey and have extended there area and have cleared up all the those dead zones that we, cell phone...
I'm on the phone all day sometimes and I almost always get a good signal as long as my battery is charged up. The phone does not work well in elevators or basements and won't get a signal in the subway. The plan is great as I've had AT&T and...
Pros: simplicity of billing and calling plans Cons: customer service and follow-up stinks
This review is for Digital phone usage only! When compared to others like GTE, AT&T and Airtouch, Sprints programs are simple and the billing easy to understand....and definitely cheaper at $.10 a minute it is a steal!!! Also, love the fact that...
Pros: Excellent Connections , No Commitment Plans Cons: High overtime rates
Sprint's Standard $49.99 plan includes 500 daytime minutes (Mon thru Fri 7am to 7pm) and then an additional 500 minutes nights and weekends at no cost. That works this plan out to 5 cents a minute.
Some points that help Sprint stand out from the...
Pros: great coverage Cons: point of purchase experience lacking
I've had my Sprint phone for about 4 months now. The coverage I get both in the city and its suburbs is excellent. I can make calls from the basement of a friend's house in the Hudson Valley when he can't even get voicemail alerts on his Bell Atlantic...
Pros: Free Long Distance, a lot of weekend mins Cons: Customer Service, Reliability , Voicemail, Signal, Reception
I started my Sprint service about a year and a half ago when I left AT&T because as everyone in NYC knows, AT&T overloaded their network and the service began to suffer a great deal.
Sprint PCS at the time was the best option for price, plans,...
Pros: Cheap minutes and phone selection Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE!
I was a SPCS customer for 5+ years, a big mistake on my part. Though the reception around my home was poor, I was promised it would improve, a promise still not met. Their advertisements tout their superior sound quality, my experiences were quite the...
Buyers beware...Sprint PCS FREE & CLEAR is anything but "free." First, you buy a phone, become a customer and then decide to trade up on phones for better reception or more features. Guess what? If you've purchased the phone outside of a...
Pros: Good deals on minutes, good insurance on the handset Cons: Lousy reception, frequent telemarketing phone calls, many other obnoxious policies
My husband and I signed up with Sprint two years ago because they offered what seemed like a lot of minutes for a pretty good price, plus they insure your handset so that if you lose it or break it, you just pay a small deductible and you get a new one...
Pros: Customers can upgrade or downgrade plans at will. Cons: The customer service is horrible.
When I lived in New York City, I signed up for Sprintpcs cellular phone service. What attracted me to them in the beginning was that I was able to contract service with them for a cash deposit, which gains interest and would be returned to me. I was also...
Pros: The Phone Style is nice Cons: Roaming at all times, Phone bill is out of wack, Sprint people are snotty!
My experience with Sprint has been very rocky! I chose Sprint because I have no credit and they don't need a billion dollars down for a phone like some other places. I also had a few friends with phones from them and they said they were ok. I guess...
Pros: Nice commercials and good promises for great service and call quality. Cons: Dropped calls, poor signal strength in Brooklyn and poor customer service.

Pros: Good pricing, feature-rich Cons: Slightly weaker coverage than other services

Pros: Well... it works Cons: Charge for everything! Messed up charges! Bad service rep.
This is my personal experience and plus I've heard others who had gone through similar ordeals. First the local service itself. There're always long lines at local Sprint stores to use the automatic payment machines, and they don't accept Credit Cards!...
I had the service for less than a month. Tried it in NYC (West Village), Hoboken, Jersey City, and Princeton. The reception was very bad inall of these places. I decided to reurn the phone and discontinue the service. I was immediatley offered one month...
Pros: Better voicemail than other providers; lower priced plans. Cons: horrible service in ny metro area;
dropped call on almost every call;
I've had Sprint for 2 years now and the only reason I stayed this long was because of the price. But now, it seems like all the cell phone providers are on the same page with price. So, now look at service and quality.
Pros: reception is decent, customer service people are nice Cons: network is overloaded and very unreliable during evenings and peak hours
I used Sprint PCS when I lived in LA - it worked great out there and whenever I was on interstate highways on road trips. I've since moved to New York, and, while Sprint's coverage in Manhattan is good, their network reliability is terrible, especially...
Pros: Decent phone selection; helpful store staff. Cons: Very spotty coverage
NOTE in 3/03: A long time after the review below, Sprint hasn't changed much. Friends who held on, hoping for improvement, are checking out. Others who were drawn in by its deals or hot phones are looking at other providers. It may have great outside...
Pros: Great sound quality, predictable billing Cons: bad customer service, need better coverage
I chose to try Sprint because I had been using another Mobil service & my I never knew how much my bill would be each month. I was paying way to much & I rarely used my phone. My husband had Sprint & his bill was always the same each month,...
Pros: no pros Cons: worst customer service in the world, dropped calls, over billing,
THIS ONE SERVICE YOU CAN AVOID AT ALL COST.

Pros: You can always go to another service provider that will give you SERVICE and provide. Cons: bad cost. service, dropped calls, no voicemail even if you have VM (read on)
The phones that Sprint uses (Samsung his way to the bank) are garbage. I did a survey on the phone and SPRINT and most if not all had the same problems I had. Calls would be dropped even with a signal. Where you might have a signal one day you may not...
To whom it may concern, In September 2003 I became the unfortunate victim of two thefts, one by an identity thief and one by Sprint PCS. I have been a Sprint PCS customer for nearly seven years, but after today I will never give Sprint PCS another ...

This was my first time getting a Cell phone. After much thought and consideration I was going to go with VoiceStream. They had a plan for $20 that included 75 Peak Minutes and 250 Off Peak minutes. I called Sprint to see if they would match the offer and...
I live in Upstate NY, but New York City was the closest city to me. Why couldn't they have Albany? That's just minutes away. Anyway, I feel that the 500 minutes for 50 dollars is good for people who like to talk on the phone and are not home much like...
Pros: No long distance charges -call anywhere Cons: Poor customer service, charges for switching plans
I chose this service initally due to the rebate offered with the startac phone. Even with the service it was an investment and since the phone ONLY works with Sprint. I've had the phone and service for almost a year now and intially service was not...
Pros: Easy, Reasonably Priced, Convenient, Better than the rest Cons: Having to be on hold on your cell with customer service for 2 hours and having the signal cut you off!!!!!

Pros: quality sound Cons: bad coverage, calls cut in and out
I bought the Samsung 2000 phone because I wanted to be able to get more minutes for my money. The Sprint maps show that where I live there is coverage. But there isn't. In fact my whole ride to work (30 miles) is in Roam. I used the phone for 15...
Pros: Month-to-month service, relatively cheap, decent phones, you get what you pay for Cons: HORRIBLE customer service, misleading ads
My history with Sprint is long and varied, mostly because every time I was about to drop them, they offered me a deal to keep me, before jerking me around again. So a small history below to help you avoid the same:
Pros: Great plans, good customer service Cons: Poor reception in Manhattan, expensive phones
I got my sprint phone in April and have been fairly pleased with it since. Living in Manhattan, I have found that I will get reception just about anywhere, except the subways. The number of dropped calls do get annoying at times, but it is something...

Pros: Convenient, crystal clear when it doesn't cut out.... Cons: 30 cents a minute? Gimmee a break, cuts out very often
Where do I begin? I decided to change from AT&T to Sprint after friends and family members raved about thier cool phone, cheap bills and clear connections. That's not what I got...I got the complete opposite. Yeah, the phone was cool and I got...
We purchased Sprint PCS service and two phones in March, it has been a nightmare ever since. First they set up the wrong service for one of the phones we ordered, then they refused to correct it. We spent countless hours on the phone with customer...
Pros: Good value on service plans, Wireless Web access Cons: New activation fee imposed without warning
I've been a Sprint PCS customer since August, 1997. At that time I did my research and found that Sprint offered the best deal (no activation fee, no contract, good promotional plans). Sprint's policy of allowing customers to change service plans has...
Pros: Easy access to customer service, Great website, Clear service Cons: Compared to other cell phone service providers, I don't think Sprint has any major cons
I've had my Sprint PCS service for nearly a year now and have never had any major problems.

Pros: Good Price Cons: Customer Service Call Waiting
Warning. Most people are not totally satisfied with their cellular service. Sprint's service is no exception.
Don't get me wrong. This is a probably one of the better deals on the market. Before you decide to sign up though I would like to...
Pros: never had any problems Cons: may not use as primary phone
As a new mom, I needed a cell phone for emergency purposes only. After doing research, Sprint had the best coverage, the best price and the most free minutes offered. I travel throughout the tri-state area, and even into Pennsylvania and have never had...
Pros: Good Value, Great Customer Service Cons: Slight Echo
Sprint PCS has been fine for me. I live on Long Island and have not had any major problems. I have changed plans four times and customer service has been fantastic. I love not having a contract. The only problem I have had has been a slight echo on my...
Pros: If you've been a customer for one year, you can SCAM sprint! Cons: Must Remain still like field mouse with hawk flying above or else Dropped Calls
I have had Sprint PCS for one year, I just called *2 and threatened to cancel my account JUST before the one year mark was up. They ended up giving me 650 anytime minutes, 3000 nights and weekends (with 8pm, NOT 9pm) and 500 mobile to mobile minutes....
I recently gave up on Sprint PCS. At first I thought it might be my phone. I had one of the older cell phones but after speaking to other people I found out I wasn't alone.
Most of the people I spoke to shared my complaints. Our calls were...
Pros: says "NO" roaming or LD charges Cons: hidden charges
I recently switched over from AT&T to Sprint. On AT&T, I had a cheap plan ($29.99) with sufficient minutes and excellent reception. The Nokia phone was excellent as well. The only problem (and it turned out to be a major problem) was that the AT&T...
Pros: Works some of the time Cons: cost service reception
Well I have a few opinions about Sprint!
I would like to start by saying how bad the customer service department
is! Every time you call them they put you on hold, after several minutes
you finally reach a living voice on the end of the...
Pros: online bill pay, 500 nights and weekend minutes Cons: sometimes voicemail is flaky (very rare)
I chose Sprint because PrimeCo (now Verizon) was such a nightmare!! They had me pay for service even after I ended my service with them. With Sprint I wasn't expecting too much better, but they've surprised me. I can check my account and pay online! My...
Pros: Inexpensive, usually good reception Cons: signals fade-out around large buildings, and in the boroughs
I've had my Sprint Standard service since June 1999. I didn't expect too much from the service, but have been happily surprised. Each month you get 180 minutes -local (for $29.99 w/tax $35.66 approx.) I opted for this plan because I won't be using my...
Pros: no year contract, great customer service, nice features Cons: coverage can be spotty
OK, everybody has a cell phone these days. It's odd - even during my classes (I'm a student at Columbia University) you'll see people run out of the room suddenly - and they don't have to go to the bathroom, they're getting a call on their cell....
Pros: simple plans and nationwide coverage Cons: very bad customer support policies
I have been a non-contract customer of Sprint PCS for more than two years now (which means that I have not signed any yearly contracts with them and am at Liberty to leave them any time I want). The fact that I have been using them all along does not...
Pros: 500 minutes free everywhere Cons: I talk on the phone more than I used to
We chose to go with this service because we wanted to have long distance without an extra charge and no roaming fee. What does that mean? Simply put, all of your calls no matter where they are, are free (under 500 minutes) and if I use my phone...
Pros: Cheap Cons: Poor network coverage in Manhattan, Frequent drops
I have had the Sprint service for over a year now and have had several reasons to be disappointed. I primarily use my phone in Manhattan and am amazed at the number of mysterious dead spaces where I can't get a signal. There are several blocks in major...
Pros: 10 cents a minute. No games. Cons: Exceeding allocated minutes gets expensive -- fast.
Simplicity. There is nothing else like it.
Surely you've seen Sprint's ad campaign, touting the no-hassle pricing plans. Simplicity is the cornerstone of the "Free and Clear" promotion -- pay a flat rate each month, and receive a...
Pros: Great Rates, Flexible Plans, Free Long Distance, Web Access to Account Cons: Rarely: staticky calls.
March 11: My girlfriend's 23rd birthday.
Rewind a week; I ask her if she wants a soiree to celebrate her 23rd brithday, "Sure," she says, "but where?" (Her apartment is not too big.) So, I call Mikey W, who lives in the City (I...
Pros: Nothing other than a lot of minutes and free long distance. Cons: Very poor customer service. I got taken for a ride. See review for details.
First off let me tell you that the PCS network itself functions rather well. I got decent reception in most parts of Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan, although there were dead-spots near the Brooklyn bridge in Brooklyn Heights and I did have to accept...
Pros: cheap plans, nationwide calling, no long distant charges Cons: expensive phones, non existence customer service, non functioning website
i have read a lot of comments by others on epinions.com as well as other websites on wireless carriers' performance. i do not expect my wireless phone to replace my landline phone and i have very low expectations of the wireless telecom industry's...
I live in CT but do a lot of traveling to NY
ATT could not provide pager coverage where I live
Sprint PCS covers me all through CT and NY, NJ, MASS
the coverage I get is fantastic, hardly any dead zones, the Motorola Star Tac dual band...
Pros: Cheap prices, digital quality, roaming in cities, long distance Cons: Dropped calls, system often overloaded
My previous opinion is below...feel free to take a look. But over the course of the last several months, my opinion has really changed about Sprint and I figured my opinion needed an updating...
Pros: Lots of choices in plans, lots of minutes within each plan Cons: Trouble connecting at certain times during the day
So you want to get a mobile phone? Number #1: you must select the provider that has the best coverage for the place you live. If you travel, you must look at those coverage areas, too.
I live in Stamford, CT, and I use Sprint PCS. Sprint PCS...
Pros: Good, reliable service. No dropped calls. Excellent reception. Cheap plans. Cons: Customer Svc can be annoying. Long lines at Sprint Stores. Voicemail sometimes late.
I have had Sprint PCS service for 3.5 years now; 2 years of which I was in the NYC service area. I started with a Qualcomm 1900 phone, then moved on to a Samsung SCH-3500, and now I use a LG TP5250 3G phone. For the first year, service was dismal with...
Pros: Simple, inexpensive. Cons: Limited service area, poor reception.
The Sprint PCS basic plan is simple, clear, and very useful as long as you remain within a major metropolitan area. The basic problem with the plan is the limitations on areas of service, and the quality of reception.
Pros: The Best of them all. Cons: Odd Phone choices
Sprint PCS is the best service available in New York. That's not to say that it is perfect, but it is certainly passable. You can get more minutes with Voicestream and ATT, but the quality is worse as are both technologies. The fact of the matter is that...
Pros: low rate, clear reception, more N/W minutes Cons: spotty coverage for digital. Need 2 yr contract to get good deal.
I was with Sprint for 2 years and recently just signed another 2 years with them. They have a good plan and reception is getting better. I see no reason to switch to another carrier.
All my friends have pcs service with different providers. One...
Pros: sharing minutes, free long distance, clear reliable connections Cons: a little lame on the customer service side
I chose this service after a grueling, mind-numbing comparison process that took way too long. In NYC, where nearly everybody has a cell phone attached to their head, it is an insanely competitive market. After it all, I chose Sprint for the following...
Pros: Clear conversations Cons: don't fully cover my area (CT)
I switched to Sprint PCS from Bell Atlantic for more minutes at a cheaper rate. Overall, I have only had 1 problem with my phone itself (which was replaced in just a few minutes at one of their stores after they noticed the problem - they even printed...
Pros: No busy signals, great sound Cons: Bad customer service
I bought my phone for long distance calls between my school in Philadelphia and my home in NYC. In Philly, Sprint, which offered great deals, is usually unreliable. However, in NYC, I get remarkable service.
Pros: No Contract/Dependable Service Cons: Customer Service
I've been a Sprint PCS user for a couple of years. The service has always been great. The horror stories I have heard from customers of other companies (AT&T Bell Atlantic Etc.) make me feel like I made the right choice. My phone always works. The...
I really can't complain about Sprint service. I have friends and associates with at&t and other various plans and they all experience the same signal variations and other glitches I've experienced with Sprint. The only downside I have seen to...
** Something IMPORTANT I forgot when I first wrote this piece. About a month or so ago on Fox TV in NY they did a segment on cellular phone comapanies that overcharge you. The three companies tested where Verizon, AT& T and Sprint. Sprint and Verizon...
Pros: Relatively cheap service. Cons: Poor reception. Dropped calls. Sometimes calls go straight to voice mail. More.
When I moved to NYC, I got sprint service based on the advice of my brother who has been living in NYC for sometime. I didn't know any better. Now I do. From the beginning, people I talk to are constantly saying "can you talk louder? I can't hear ...
Pros: price Cons: 4.04 in taxes for me in New York
I have had this service for one year and find it meets all of my needs. I purchased the phone so that when my husband is on his Harley and I'm in the car we can keep in touch on long rides. I have used this Sprint connections as far up as Canada and...
Sprint PCS has great prices, and the quality of the connection is generally great, as long as you can connect at all. Unlike most (all?) non-digital services, it includes free voice mail for when you're not in range (as well as Caller ID).
I use the...
Pros: Choice of plans, customer service, and reception. Cons: Lack of phone variety.
I've been using Sprint in New York for almost 3 years now and have had little trouble with them. There used to be some dead zones in Downtown, but since they upgraded their network and I switched over to the Vision plan and phones I have had no deadzone...
Pros: relatively cheap Cons: really, really bad service
I've had Sprint service for almost a year now and, for the most part, it's been nothing but bad news. I used to think maybe it was just my phone (Sony D-Wave Zuma - the tiny one w/ the flip down mic), but other people I know who have Sprint service...
Pros: Commercials are funny Cons: Dropped calls everywhere, customer service is absolutely evil, a scheme going on with their plans.
First of all, lets talk about the primary function of any cell-phone, the ability to make calls and communicate. My Sprint cell phone USED to work pretty well, about 2 years ago. It's been downhill for the last 6 months. Dropped calls galore, static,...
I chose this service because of the Samsung 8500 that the Sprint PCS service offers. This is a areally nice plan, 500 minutes for 30 bucks a month. I recommend that you use this service. About a month has passed, and the coverage in where I live, New...
Pros: Wonderful Website, Minutes Cons: Coverage, Tech Support
I decided to buy my phone from Sprint because, they were the only ones who carried the Motorola V.8162. But when it came time to actually use the phone, I was running around the house trying to find a spot where I could actually receive signal. Sprint...
Pros: Cheap; On-Line svc/cust supp; Nationwide cov. Cons: Limited availability of phones via website.
As an occasional traveler to different metro areas of the nation - I find Sprint PCS to be the best choice with the most coverage! I rarely have complaints and find their service options splendid! I recommend to all friends and think PCS is way ahead...
Pros: nice phones, good plans, clear calls, decent customer service at times, few dropped calls, Cons: expensive phones, may have to call customer service to get things squared away, avoid "extras"
Recently I just purchased a sprint plan after dropping t-mobile. it's only been a month and so far im pleased with the service and my plan.....however....it hasn't been a smooth ride. Part 1 (the sign up) Pretty easy, not 1 problem choosing ...
Pros: You get good value of plan they offer. Cons: Signal strength varies from area to area.
I have had Sprint since the Spectrum days in 1997. I am still of opinion that Sprint had better coverage when it was Spectrum service. We then got transferred to Sprint PCS last year and I have experienced that the signal strength was better in Spectrum....
Pros: Good long distant coverage, no contract required for certain plans. Cons: Dropped calls, dead areas and echoed calls.
Sprint has one the best nationwide long distant networks, I used my phone out of state and have made calls across the country with no problems. Surprisingly the problems that I've had with them has been right in my own calling area, I get dropped calls...
Pros: free long distance--but who doesn't? Cons: rude, screwed up systems, don't care about customers
I can not wait for my agreement with these people to be up. They have totally screwed up my account--shut it down claiming I called in telling them I was moving to Europe. Then when I got that straightened out they had changed the address my bills were ...
Pros: Since I can't receive calls, I don't have to turn it off in public places Cons: Unimaginably bad customer service, bad coverage, dropped calls-worthless
I have never had a worse experience with a product than with Sprint. My wife and I both got the phones and plan, and they are the most expensive paperweights we've ever gotten. We can't use them anywhere near our home in Brooklyn. The only place I've...
Pros: Rate, Lot of weekend and night time minutes Cons: Poor Service, Call Drop, Poor Coverage -Goes to analog more often
I bought this Sprint PCS mobile phone after seeing it used by some of my friends in Texas. May be it is good in the South. I really don't know. My friends say that it is working fine over there. But not in NJ-NY area.
Pros: Coverage, Price, No Roaming fees on network, long distance, customer service Cons: Voice Mail Messages are sometimes delayed
After dealing with the MCI representatives for over 2 years I decided to call it quits. I had 2 accounts with them and they NEVER get the billing right. One month they charged me $600 and I was on hold for 4 hours trying to clear it up. NEVER AGAIN...
Pros: No contract, largest Digital Network Cons: Get a Dual Band phone so you can also get Analog service if a given area isn't Digitized.
There are so many different Cell phone plans with so many different companies. I recearched them all and find the overwhelming winner to be Sprint PCS. First, it has the largest Digital Network in the world. Second, you only pay month to month so you...
Pros: No long term contracts Cons: Terrible service, does not live up to the name "nationwide" service
I bought the Sprint Nationwide service about a year ago. I chose this service because I bought it online, and they didn't require any long term contracts, like most cellular providers ask for. I was very disappointed from the minute I started using...
Pros: clear reception Cons: only adequate customer service
I had an account with Bell Atlantic in the Albany area, and I was barely satisfied with the customer service. So, I turned to Sprint because I did not have to sign a contract to have service. I also liked the digital service. I was moving to the NYC...
Pros: Contract expires. Not renewing and I'm happy. No other pros. Cons: No Signal, Incompetent employees, Long Waits for customer service, customer service with an attitude.
Sprint is a nightmare of service and telephones. Their current ads indicate want a powerful phone. Well you can't have a powerful phone if you don't have powerful towers or signals for that phone to communicate with. In my own apartment I can't use my...
Pros: Reasonably priced and cool features Cons: bad signal and coverage and billing issues
I need my cellphone for business and personal use and I have a plan that has way more minutes during the nights and weekends than during the day. All this is well and good but I am reluctant to use the phone except for when I absolutely need it because...
Pros: let you know exactly how many minutes you have left for your month Cons: Signal strength is horrible even in major population centers like Queens. CUstomer service also sucks
I have had my sprint service over a year now. My phine when purchased was a top of the line sanyo scp 4500. The phone is still great but I cant say the same for the Sprint service. I have taken this phone on my travles all over the US and it has this...
Pros: Excellent sound quality and more than adequate coverage area. Cons: Lots of hidden costs. Extremely rude and poorly trained Customer Service Reps.
Perhaps it's because I was using a Tracfone pre-paid service prior to becomming a Sprint customer, but I am very happy with Sprint.
I live in a large city in Upstate NY and travel frequently to rural areas for hiking. I am amazed at the...
Pros: Free nights and weekends Cons: Bad customer service, increasing prices and decreasing reception service
I've had my sprint service for over two years. At first it was good, but the past year, the rates seems to go up each month and the reception service seems to go down the toilet. To make matters worst, their customer service reps are horrible. Last mon ...
Pros: Cheapest service, good customer service Cons: Fringe area service poor, dropped calls, overloaded system
I had a Sprint phone for around two months and got quite disgusted with the service. First off, Sprint has been aggressively trying to procure subscribers at the expense of a degradation of their service. Secondly, as much as everyone thinks their...
Pros: NONE Cons: Horrible Customer Service, Poor Service
I was a Sprint PCS customer for several years. At first the Service was ok, but the Customer Service was wonderful. Sadly, this is no longer the case. The service is only slightly better than it was in 1997, and the Customer service is a DISGRACE! From...
Pros: good range, cheap Cons: signal fade too quick
I really had no choice with the service I wanted. The phone I wanted only came with Sprint ( Samsung sch-3500). I was however pleasantly surprised by the service. I can get reception almost anywhere. Overall, the service has been very good so far. I do...
Pros: The service is not terrible Cons: There are dropped calls, message system is sporadic, roaming
I have had service with sprint for about 5 years. I am not very happy with the Service. I hated my previous experience with AT&T so much that I jumped into a contract with sprint and their promises. I have had a motorola startrac for the whole time. It...
Pros: Nice selection of phones, simple plans, online account managment Cons: Service not to good
I purchased my Sprint PCS phone in October. Before that I had NEXTEL for one year. I like my sprint service and my sprint phone. I like the fact that you can do almost anything online and never call and speak to people. The phone works well and also...
Pros: Good Looking Phones Cons: Very Poor Customer Serv. Too many dropped calls. Big Gaps in coverage.
I purchased a motorolla phone for me and a Kyoera for my wife. From Day 1 we experienced very poor customer service. I would not recommend this company to anyone who expects good customer assistance. There are large gaps in coverage, and way to many...
Pros: Excellent customer service, clear billing, great service, great rates Cons: Changing plans can create headaches
I have had Sprint in Houston and New York City. In both areas the service has been nothing less than exceptional. I have spoken to many people who have negative things to say but the next question is usually "did you pay your bill".
Pros: None that I can see Cons: Only seems interested in attracting new customers. Poor customer service for existing customers.
I've had Sprint for several years. I went to them because of the nationwide coverage, which at that time, most of the other carrier's typical plans were not nationwide. Since I'm no longer under contract, I can go anywhere, but I've been trying to find ...
Pros: Good when not in NYC, lots of call features. Cons: No coverage at the office, at home, constant dropped calls, late voicemail.
Coverage and reception was good in San Diego, but it pretty bad in NYC. I can never use my 500 minutes because it is hard to hold a conversation when half of it is cut out. The wireless web is worthless. I can surf faster with a 300 baud modem and an...
Pros: Wide coverage; clear cellular service Cons: any dealing with Sprint PCS stores or their call centers
You'd think that a mobile telephony company such as Sprint PCS, with its already huge number of existing customers--not to mention the thousands who sign-on each day--could have the proper customer service staff to accommodate its subscribers in a decent...
Pros: Sometimes you need to keep in touch Cons: sometimes you'd like to be able to and can't
It's bad enough I can't walk through a room w/o hearing a ring, or sit in a peaceful atmosphere without someone talking to themselves, oh, I'm sorry their cellular phone. But when you need to make a call Sprint service is a plan you shouldn't rely on. I...
Pros: Great phones, service, good customer service. Cons: After six months of service cant find any yet.
Sprint Cell phone service came a long way. Great phone and Good prices. Get the fair and flexible plan. Roaming included and if you go over your minutes only five dollars for every fifty minutes. So much better then paying 45 cents a minute with the other providers. Every major city has sprint and if you find one that doesn't or your in the sticks you will switch over to roaming which is usually verizons network. So your covered. There minute plans seem to be cheaper then the other providers and they give bigger corporate discount so check with your company.
Pros: SPRINT IS CRAP!!!! BAD PHONE SERVICE TOO Cons: They are not not junk?????
Sprint sells you a junk phone that breaks within a month then refuses to replace it. They force you to spend $200 to replace it and then charge you $4/mo for insurance. They just keep replacing the junk phones made in Malaysia which cost them about fifty cents to make when they break again (by the way they charge you $35 deductable each time you replace the piece of crap. DONT USE SPRINT!!!!!!!!
Sprint is what you should do from this carrier by consultrunner ,Oct 03 '05
Pros: Many stores to sell you phones Cons: Horrible support (in India), poor reception even in major towns, constant fraudulent charges on bill.
I have been with Sprint for several years but that is changing. Over the last couple of months the customer service has gotten beyond rotten. How do I know about the decline? Because I have to call every month to resolve the overcharges that are on my bill. Over the last 4 months Sprint has attempted to charge me over double the correct amount. Every month I have to spend, on average, 30-45 minutes on the phone (horrible wait times). This month I have given up twice after holding for more than 20 minutes. All support is in India which makes it very hard to understand them.
As for reception, it too has gotten worse. I have contacted them for an explanation as to why I am on roaming minutes in Dallas at home and was told that I have to purchase a booster antenna for my house at a cost around $3000. The main thing I can say is DON'T USE SPRINT!!!
Sprint is not worthy of incorporation by mottgrrl ,Jul 30 '05
Pros: There is absolutely nothing positive about Sprint. It's a hole of thuggery. Cons: Sprint is SO BAD, that if you go with them anyway-- you deserve it.
I have been arguing with Sprint for two months now. They are not only charging me an ENORMOUS fee for letting my daughter get her own plan; they then turned around and LIED and said I had agreed to a new plan myself. This is on top of being double-billed for $300/worth of calls I never made to Santo Domingo. I've not only begun to hate Sprint; I realize I hate the people who work there as well. I'm beginning to think they get a piece of the action off people they rob.
Pros: Nation-Wide roaming available for only $5.00 per month.Well
worth it if you travel alot. Cons: 50% of your anytime minutes can be used for roaming.
Sprint has greatly improved their service over the past (2) years. There are less dropped calls and you stay connected
much longer than before.I've been with them for (10) years
and i have no regrets at all.I tried Verizon wireless,AT&T
wireless,T-Mobile,Cingular,and Nextel while keeping sprint
service.I just wanted to compare the carriers to see if i
wanted to switch.Except for verizon, all the other carriers
were horrible.Verizon and sprint are very much equal to one
another.I had dropped calls with verizon and poor signal
strength where sprint had better service and vice versa.
Sprint's service is not only good in New York, but the service is good all over the United States.Of course like any other carrier, there are alot of spotty areas but nothing
to really get upset about.Just go with the flow.
sprint mobile phone service by lisa638 ,Oct 19 '04
Pros: Many plans to choose from. Cons: Poor customer service follow through, check for accuracy and save your original contracts!!!
I have had mixed experiences with sprint. As long as everything was going well, the actual service and reception was good. We encountered problems with a new plan that had been set up for us with two new phones it has all been downhill since!!! We had problems with the wording of the contract, we had problems cancelling the phones and then when we think, "Yeah! We're out!" we get a bill with a $150 cancellation fee, which thankfully I saved the original contract, and find out two months later that the other phones were never actually cancelled and we are being charged for them and there's nothing they can do about that! I am peeved and very glad that we took our phones and completely destroyed them!!!! We are now very happily and peacefully contracted with Verizon!
Pros: pretty good coverage, online account management Cons: severe penalties for usage fluctuations
I have had Sprint PCS for 5 years. It gets good coverage in most parts of the country. But they are really inflexible with the overages. I saw an ad for Sprint that insinuated that it is wrong to penalize someone because the plans offered didn't fit with the actual variablility of the product usage. That same month I received a bill for $200 (my plan is $45). The overage was for air-time representing about 1/3 of the minutes included in the plan. SO shouldn't it be $15 more? I understand that all of the cell phone carriers are filthy, but this is really a bad set up. I called Sprint when I knew that I was going to go over my minutes, but there is nothing they would let me do. I was traveling and people had to reach me...so I have to pay $150 for a few extra lousy minutes? I am switching to Verizon because Sprint's ad convinced me that this isn't how a long time customer should be treated.
Bad coverage, bad customer service, bad voicemail system by kgnyc ,Jul 11 '04
Pros: slightly less expensive than most other providers Cons: inconsistent voicemail, chronic dropped calls, poor coverage, poor customer service
Customer service rep says their contract doesn't require Sprint to provide voicemail or reliable coverage, so I can't cancel the contract without penalty. It would almost be worth the $150 to be done with them....
I've used Sprint since 2000. I tried to cancel about a year ago b/c of poor service and constant dropped calls, but they talked me into staying by offering me a better deal. In the past, I've had numerous problems: calls going straight to voicemail without my setting them to, voicemail not getting to me for hours, only able to maintain a signal if I stand perfectly still, and about 50% of calls (within Manhattan) dropped. This time, I had voicemail piling up for 3 DAYS before I could retrieve it. I received no indication that there were messages for me, and when I called to check anyway, was told there were no new messages. Then, 3 days later, I get 3 days worth of messages. Customer service rep tells me that I can't cancel my contract based on their failure to provide voicemail because voicemail is a "free feature" not included in the contract. Fortunately I have only 6 weeks left!
Pros: - Actual phone service is better
- Customer service at store level is excellent Cons: - Customer service representatives are not knowledgeable, not customer-oriented and not helpful
We transferred our cell phone service from T-Mobile to Sprint due to the limited service that we received from T-Mobile in our area (Rockland County). However, we were always very satisfied with the customer service offered by T-Mobile.
Since moving to Sprint, we have had nothing but bad experiences with the customer service. Most recently, our phone service was shut off and we received a text notification that we had to make a payment. When we called customer service, the automated system stated that we owed just a little over $100, which is below our monthly limit. However, when I spoke with Jessica at customer service, she stated that the automated system is not always updated and is not meant to quote balances. When I questioned what kind of customer service that was, she answered that she didn't "really know what the automated system is for."
Once our contract is up, we will be searching for another company that appreciates it's consumers.
sprint the wave of the future in cell phones by tagisfun ,Jun 28 '04
Pros: customer service quality phones good prices Cons: still trying to find some
sprint phones have gotten along in the past 3 years. Now they have 2 way walkie talkie on most models cameras and now video cameras along with great service and good looking phones sprint is hard to beat
