Sprint is not worthy of incorporation
by mottgrrl ,Jul 30 '05
Pros: There is absolutely nothing positive about Sprint. It's a hole of thuggery. Cons: Sprint is SO BAD, that if you go with them anyway-- you deserve it.
I have been arguing with Sprint for two months now. They are not only charging me an ENORMOUS fee for letting my daughter get her own plan; they then turned around and LIED and said I had agreed to a new plan myself. This is on top of being double-billed for $300/worth of calls I never made to Santo Domingo. I've not only begun to hate Sprint; I realize I hate the people who work there as well. I'm beginning to think they get a piece of the action off people they rob.

Sprint has improved.
by gjmoo7 ,Mar 25 '05
Pros: Nation-Wide roaming available for only $5.00 per month.Well
worth it if you travel alot. Cons: 50% of your anytime minutes can be used for roaming.
Sprint has greatly improved their service over the past (2) years. There are less dropped calls and you stay connected
much longer than before.I've been with them for (10) years
and i have no regrets at all.I tried Verizon wireless,AT&T
wireless,T-Mobile,Cingular,and Nextel while keeping sprint
service.I just wanted to compare the carriers to see if i
wanted to switch.Except for verizon, all the other carriers
were horrible.Verizon and sprint are very much equal to one
another.I had dropped calls with verizon and poor signal
strength where sprint had better service and vice versa.
Sprint's service is not only good in New York, but the service is good all over the United States.Of course like any other carrier, there are alot of spotty areas but nothing
to really get upset about.Just go with the flow.

sprint mobile phone service
by lisa638 ,Oct 19 '04
Pros: Many plans to choose from. Cons: Poor customer service follow through, check for accuracy and save your original contracts!!!
I have had mixed experiences with sprint. As long as everything was going well, the actual service and reception was good. We encountered problems with a new plan that had been set up for us with two new phones it has all been downhill since!!! We had problems with the wording of the contract, we had problems cancelling the phones and then when we think, "Yeah! We're out!" we get a bill with a $150 cancellation fee, which thankfully I saved the original contract, and find out two months later that the other phones were never actually cancelled and we are being charged for them and there's nothing they can do about that! I am peeved and very glad that we took our phones and completely destroyed them!!!! We are now very happily and peacefully contracted with Verizon!

OK
by lapsarian ,Jul 16 '04
Pros: pretty good coverage, online account management Cons: severe penalties for usage fluctuations
I have had Sprint PCS for 5 years. It gets good coverage in most parts of the country. But they are really inflexible with the overages. I saw an ad for Sprint that insinuated that it is wrong to penalize someone because the plans offered didn't fit with the actual variablility of the product usage. That same month I received a bill for $200 (my plan is $45). The overage was for air-time representing about 1/3 of the minutes included in the plan. SO shouldn't it be $15 more? I understand that all of the cell phone carriers are filthy, but this is really a bad set up. I called Sprint when I knew that I was going to go over my minutes, but there is nothing they would let me do. I was traveling and people had to reach me...so I have to pay $150 for a few extra lousy minutes? I am switching to Verizon because Sprint's ad convinced me that this isn't how a long time customer should be treated.

Bad coverage, bad customer service, bad voicemail system
by kgnyc ,Jul 11 '04
Pros: slightly less expensive than most other providers Cons: inconsistent voicemail, chronic dropped calls, poor coverage, poor customer service
Customer service rep says their contract doesn't require Sprint to provide voicemail or reliable coverage, so I can't cancel the contract without penalty. It would almost be worth the $150 to be done with them....
I've used Sprint since 2000. I tried to cancel about a year ago b/c of poor service and constant dropped calls, but they talked me into staying by offering me a better deal. In the past, I've had numerous problems: calls going straight to voicemail without my setting them to, voicemail not getting to me for hours, only able to maintain a signal if I stand perfectly still, and about 50% of calls (within Manhattan) dropped. This time, I had voicemail piling up for 3 DAYS before I could retrieve it. I received no indication that there were messages for me, and when I called to check anyway, was told there were no new messages. Then, 3 days later, I get 3 days worth of messages. Customer service rep tells me that I can't cancel my contract based on their failure to provide voicemail because voicemail is a "free feature" not included in the contract. Fortunately I have only 6 weeks left!

Terrible customer service!
by jelmisc ,Oct 07 '04
Pros: - Actual phone service is better
- Customer service at store level is excellent Cons: - Customer service representatives are not knowledgeable, not customer-oriented and not helpful
We transferred our cell phone service from T-Mobile to Sprint due to the limited service that we received from T-Mobile in our area (Rockland County). However, we were always very satisfied with the customer service offered by T-Mobile.
Since moving to Sprint, we have had nothing but bad experiences with the customer service. Most recently, our phone service was shut off and we received a text notification that we had to make a payment. When we called customer service, the automated system stated that we owed just a little over $100, which is below our monthly limit. However, when I spoke with Jessica at customer service, she stated that the automated system is not always updated and is not meant to quote balances. When I questioned what kind of customer service that was, she answered that she didn't "really know what the automated system is for."
Once our contract is up, we will be searching for another company that appreciates it's consumers.
