Pros: Prompt Customer Service by phone Cons: Coverage area; New customers given preferential treatment over long-standing ones.
I have been a faithful SunCom customer since they began servicing my area 5 or more years ago. I si ...

Pros: Price Cons: Contracts are at best, misleading.
I will never again use SunCom or recommend them to anyone, due to the following:
In October, 2000, I agreed to a one year contract for cellular service with SunCom. In April, 2002, I contacted SunCom to cancel my contract, since I am unhappy with...

Pros: Reasonable reception, neat phones Cons: Worthless customer service, Phantom roaming charges, reception cuts out at times
Suncom is a company that really has the potential to be good. Unfortunately, they seem to be determined to give their customers headaches and aggrivate them at a whim. I'm not sure how this business model came to be accepted, but I can assure you that...

Pros: Great service, Few problems, Good billing system and they apply payments promptly. Cons: Only offer 1 year contracts that automatically renew WITHOUT NOTICE!
I have three Suncom phones on three different contracts. I have referred several people to Suncom due to their great service.
One person I referred began having problems with her phone (not Suncom's fault). She found out that the phone was...

Pros: Rate Plan Cons: Customer service lacking, small variety of phone, network is constantly down
I have been a Suncom customer since September 2002. I switched to Suncom from Sprint because of how costly it was to be a Sprint customer, Suncom seemed to offer the best rate plan at the time (Unplan which included roaming minutes), and I had read that ...

Pros: Got the phone for free, (well after a lengthy fight for a promised rebate) Cons: Customer Service is TERRIBLE, Bills are never right if you use over 300-400 minutes.
SunCom... where do I begin. My local coverage area is Memphis, TN but I didn't think it would be fair to put this under the Memphis subtitle since it is the national customer service people that are so bad.
I purchased two phones with a plan...

Pros: USA plan allows coverage in 4000 cities. Great for vacation/travel Cons: Please read above for the cons. No need to repeat.
I'll keep this short and to the point: My wife and I got a suncom plan 18 months ago after careful consideration, and we felt that it was the best plan for the money. After all, the salesman knocked off 10 dollars per month when we showed him a better ...

Pros: Good coverage, good plan choices and rates. Cons: After first year, contract auto-renews and keeps you on the hook endlessly.
I bought my first two phones and contracts through Suncom about two and one half years ago. After the annual contract commitment was up the contract automatically went to month-to-month coverage. To cancel service only 30days notification was needed....

Pros: Advertised rates cheap Cons: Poor Customer Service, Billing Nightmare
My wife and I enrolled with Suncom December of 2000 for price and "local" coverage area from the Carbondale, Illinois region. From the very first billing statement, we had to contact customer service for "mistakes". These mistakes were eventually...

Pros: I like Harry's music Cons: probably won't buy any more of his CD's because of Suncom
We signed up with Suncom when they were fairly new and took advantage of a good deal they were offering. You get what you pay for. Customer service is a joke with these guys. I set up our service over the phone and said yes to nights and weekends, ...

Pros: At least the people are friendly... Cons: EVERYTHING!
I recently moved to Wisconsin from San Francisco, and changed to SunCom from AT&T Wireless, as my experience with AT&T's service had been amazing (never had signal problems) and they said that SunCom was their associated service in the Midwest. Right...

Pros: Local , OK Phone service Cons: Rude, Sneaky, Tricky, unethical
I have 3 Suncom phones, 2 share minutes for my spouse and I, 1 is for my adult child. My kid had used the phone for over a year and it was time to move on to another plan. She stopped using the phone over a month ago. When I got around to closing the...

Pros: good choice of calling plans Cons: erratic and inconsistent signal, dropped calls, poor customer service
I've been a Suncom customer for 5 years and spent quite a bit of money with them. In August my phone was stolen so I headed into the local retail store to take care of business. They sold me a new Panasonic for 100 bucks and charged me 35 dollars to shut ...

Pros: inexpensive Cons: misleading contract, ability to change contract provisions at any time, adds charges at will
We live in Charlottesville, VA and thought Suncom would be a good choice. We travel up to Washington, DC quite a bit and needed a flexible plan. When we signed up for the plan we were told we could expand our plan to include AT&T service area for a...

Pros: Monthly cost (only after a heated discussion with a customer service rep). Cons: Automatic renewal of contract. Customer service is extremely bad. Poor communication service.
I just got off the phone with their so called customer service. Once again, I am so angry that it is absolutely unbelievable. I have yet to call and get a logical answer to any question. I am going into my 3rd year with this company only because I ...
