Pros: Excellent Digital Coverage in Lake and Mendocino Counties, Great selection of phones Cons: No mobile web
Sorry about writing this under Milwaukee/Racine, but there is no option for rating US Cellular in Ukiah, CA which is in the greater Bay Area. So that explains that :) Here goes my opinion.
First off, I have to say how impressed I am with...
Pros: value, coverage area, customer service Cons: phones aren't sexy, no web access, no coverage in Chicago
I have absolutely no complaints about US Cellular's cellular service. I have looked at all of the competitors’ plans a million times because I want a sexier phone... but there is no reason to switch.
Pros: Great service, great plans great people Cons: Does not work well on campus in Madison
US Cellular is an all around great company. The service plan I have is $35 a month, and that includes free long distance and the most daytime minutes that I have seen for this price. (600 minutes) It also includes more than enough night/weekend...
Pros: Almost never a problem getting service Cons: There are now better plans for less $$$
This is the first cellular phone plan I've ever had, so I guess I can't really compare it to too many others, except for those two important factors: price and minutes.
U.S. Cellular's best plan right now is the 600 minute/$30 per month plan....
Pros: Great customer service and a perfect rate plan for me. Cons: Dropped calls are annoying.
I started a dog walking business in October of 2003. Since I knew I was going to be on the road a lot, and because my husband already used the primary phone line for many of his business calls (he works from home), I decided to use my cell phone as my ...
Pros: Very good customer support. Cons: No web, no regional plan, horrible phones
US Cellular is a first class company operating a second class network, with third class equipment.
Go into a US Cellular store and you're greeted by knowledgeable, well trained and polite csr's. Unfortunately their network is not quite up to...
Pros: great customer service, excellent coverage; easy to use and reliable equipment Cons: no nationwide n&w
US Cellular is a good bargain for the money. Also the customer service is friendly and helpful. Plus for all the negative reviews, people should realize that cell phones do have certain limitations. Also, US Cell is NOT yet a nationwide company. Of course there may not be perfect service when you are a WI customer and travel outside of the area...say to Vegas or CA. You are pulling off of other providers towers then so dont blame it on US Cell. Also, yeah I agree about some of the phones being crap. Then again, US Cell doesn't make the phones! Complain to Audiovox or Motorola; it may also help not to be a cheapskate and get a better quality phone when you are ordering equipment!
After considering the alternatives, Im sticking with US Cellular by walruski ,Oct 07 '05
Pros: Excellent rates, Great service, good features Cons: Only covers half the state
I have been with US Cell for about 6 years now. Thay've always been very good to me. I have had some minor issues with phones in the past. Sometimes I would not get calls when my phone was on and they would go straight to voicemail. I've had a few problems with getting a tower during busy periods like after Packer games. But overall my experiences have been very pleasant. Customer service is always very nice and professional. They don't leave ya on hold forever. Billing has always been pretty simple and never had any issues. One Complaint I have is the coverage ,anything north of Green Bay is roaming. Also when I renewed my contract I signed on for 700 minutes at $40 a month. A few months later they redid the contracts to 1000 with unlimited incoming. I was unable to move to this. I had intended to switch to Cingular after my term which is up in a few weeks but after reading some comments Im having second thoughts. But even with my employer disount thru cingular, US Cellular is still cheaper. Will probably resign in 2 weeks.
Pros: GREAT coverage, A+ customer service, knowledgeable sales reps Cons: need better selection of phones
I've been with US Cellular since 2000...Tried Cingular, Verizon and T-Mobile (these were the worst ones of all) on their trial period and stuck with US Cellular. Rates are very competitive, their customer service, coverage area is one of the best and my US Cellular store has the most knowledgeable staff in the area. Would HIGHLY recommend trying them. For the other people in here that complained about their phones being so cheap and crappy, I don't recommend, with any carrier for that matter, getting the "FREE" phone because none of these phones last, get yourself into a mid or higher end phone and you will be very happy with them! I'm from southern New Hampshirew and travel to the very tip of Northern Maine and coverage is exceptional. I have no problems anywhere for reception and I have the best coverage out in the middle rural areas where my friends have different carriers with NO SIGNAL!
Pros: many towers for service Cons: everything else
okay these people obviously have no problem from this company, I tell you now they have a big problem with their customer service these people either work for us cellular or have never had much to do wrong with them. but of course customer service is good when nothing goes wrong. but when it does all you get is the run around and unavailable managers and a lack of people who can help you as well as bills that mysteriously shoot up over 200 minuets! when the phone in question ( the only phone on the plan ) has been off for nearly 8 hours, and leaves the paying customer with no service and a rather large bill.
Pros: NONE Cons: WORDS CAN NOT DESCRIBE HOW BAD THE SERVICE IS
I have had a ported in phone number for years that was extreemely special to me. US Celluar lost my number that took year to get in seemingly a few minutes. I AM DEVASTATED!!!!!!!!!! US CELLUAR DOES NOTHING TO HELP AND WILL NOT RETURN CALLS. I have paid all of my bill on time and sent them customers and put up with their some times very abusive customer service reps. I am appalled that this company would put me through the living hell that they have.
Lousy, aggressive attitude by josephbbl ,Oct 14 '06
Pros: The deal I received was decent, with an automatic rebate given for an phone purchase. Cons: CSRs have nasty, lousy attitude, condescending, demeaning rude behavior, long wait for autopay setup.
I submitted my payment over the weekend by mail before the Monday due date. Three days later, I received a nasty phone call from a U.S. Cellular rep saying that a payment was past due. I told them I mailed the payment over the weekend, how the rep threatened they will shut off service by the follwoing week if they don't receive it.
Almost all of my personal bills are on autopay except this one. According to the forms I received from U.S. Cellular, it would take 2 months before such a system can be put into place.
I didn't expect such aggressive behavior, especially since they KNOW I have an A credit rating from the time I applied for service. Considering I run up bills in the thousands of dollars each month, it seemed unnecessarily petty for such an attitude for a $50 bill.
Perhaps they're used to dealing with people in this manner. But the bottom line is, they lost a customer.
