Pros: Great tower coverage Cons: Liars as salesman
My house of 3 switched to Verizon in the winter of 2003 because of tech problems with our previous provider. We shopped around and ended up at the kiosk for Verizon. Overall things started out ok. The worse thing at first was that since we were ...

Pros: Works fine in Seattle. Cons: No service on parts of Bainbridge Island or Poulsbo. TERRIBLE, ARROGANT, USELESS customer service.
I recently moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to Bainbridge Island. At my home in SF, Verizon often dropped calls. It has always worked best on long distance calls for me.
At my home on Bainbridge Island, a suburb of Seattle, I get no reception...

Pros: none Cons: Bad product, bad service, booby traps to force you to extend your contract
The first thing one needs to understand about Verizon is that customer service is a kind of stepchild that receives cursory attention only in lulls between sales pitches. The second thing is that the cell phones they offer free are crap. The third ...

Pros: Keeps you connected with your family. Cons: Keeps you connected with your family.
THE FAMILY PLAN and HOW IT WORKS The Verizon family plan works like all the major carriers plans ~~ you have two or more phones in one family that can call each other for free. Some plans have unlimited free calling and others have a ...

Verizon does not properly warrant its products
by goodbiz ,May 22 '04
Pros: Stores all over the place. Wide selection of phones. Very pretty sales help. Cons: You get next to no service unless you continually upgrade and spend more money.
A car charger for a Motorola failed to function after limited use and well before the end of the phone's contract.($29.99 plus tax) Bought another charger- this one the end just broke off after 4 months again before the end of the contract and with rare usage- Promised to exchange it with the receipt- found the receipt and they said it was broken- not their fault- saying 'you shouldn't use your charger while it is plugged in to your car.'- in other words, do not answer your phone without disconnecting it- something not said in any manual and something he admitted nobody does anyway. Refused to exchange as promised- instead insisted on charging $15 - A company too cheap and dishonorable IMO -
Coverage may be a little better than some other services, but I don't really know - I experienced several areas with reception problems - so hard to tell.

Coverage???
by tnm1999 ,Jul 10 '05
Pros: they sell lotsa cool phones Cons: coverage, coverage, coverage. Also uneducated, underempowered employees in the call center
I have had my phone since 1993 with the same company, they now refer to themselves as Verizon. The customer service at times leaves me feeling a little grungy when I hang up, the coverage in outlying areas leaves much to be desired. As it stands probably going to switch to another carrier just so I can use my phone at my house.

The good, the bad, and the ugly
by all4vets ,Oct 09 '04
Pros: Good local coverage. Good phone clarity Cons: Very poor and often inaccurate customer service information and communication.
Good local coverage, but significantly more costly than other available carriers. Customer service experiences have been well below par, and have received inaccurate information from customer service staff.

They sell good phones
by cbranwell ,Jul 19 '05
Pros: They sell good phones Cons: Terrible customer service. Their coverage is very poor compared to other companies.
Stay away. Terrible coverage in Seattle/King County area. Overpriced and poor customer service. I switched because they told me they have better coverage. This is not true. They cost way more and you get way less. When you call customer service nothing is resolved and then they thank you for calling. I was charged $400.00 for running over on my minutes. The reason being that I am not the primary person on the account. I pay twice what I would with any other plan.
