Pros: Good quality, good focus, reasonable price Cons: Not bad but carrying strap could be longer.

Good basic set
by youngtxyankee ,Jul 30 '04
Pros: Versatile, compact, with plenty of power to get basic job done. Good price. Cons: Not the choice for dedicated longer distance viewing; chintzy plastic neck strap.
I bought these binocs to replace a pair of small opera glasses in order to do basic surveillance at 50-100 yards. The lenses are very sharp at the lowest (7X) power and easy to focus. I agree with the other reviewers that it can be difficult to obtain optimum focus at the higher powers, and takes some tweaking the diopter adjustment, not ideal in all surveillance conditions. They do a solid job however, and I haven't noticed much loss of light or detail zooming in daylight.

Do the job
by drymtime ,Dec 20 '03
Pros: Fairly compact and clear optics at lowest zoom settings. Cons: When zoomed out to the higher settings, you loose a lot of clarity.
These would not be my first choice for a serious bird watcher or observer, but they are a decent pair of binoculars for the money. At the lowest zoom setting, they are very clear, but when zooming out to the higher settings, the view quickly becomes darker and fuzzier.
