Canon ES410V 8mm Analog Camcorder

Pros: Stabilizer, Large color LCD, 22x optical zoom, and great digital effects.
Cons: Below average recording in pitch-dark situations.

When I went searching for a camcorder I was a complete novice. I was overwhelmed by the myriad of choices ranging from VHS to digital. Should I stick with a $300 8mm camcorder or should I go for broke and get the $1000 digital? All of these thoughts...

Pros: Good quality, nice video special effects
Cons: A bit heavy

Received as a gift and it was a good one. I've never been disappointed with a Canon product. This one is no exception. The quality is good, comparable with some digital ones I've seen on the market. It would be nice if it were a bit lighter, but all in all, it's a great purchase.
