Pros: Lightweight and easy to use for simple recording. Offers advanced recording features. Cons: Menu options take awhile to scroll through. Be careful with the volume.
This camera is definitely worth getting to know. It's easy to use if you just want to record what's going on. However, it has some really neat features like a sports background, or party background to really spice up those already special occasions....

Great Beginners Camera

Pros: light weight, large display screen Cons: none
When shopping for a video camera, my main concern was that it would be easy to use. I had never owned one before and had seldom used one.
I chose the Sharp VL-A10U mainly because of the display panel. All of the features are displayed here making it very easy to use.
Some of the options that I particularly like are being able to choose different backgrounds to record on, and the zoom.
The camera's 16x zoom is absolutely amazing. I am able to sit in the bleachers and zoom in on just my son as he plays basketball.
The appearance of this camera is very nice. It has a large, built-in screen. It is similar to one on a digital camera. The buttons are all conveniently located and easy to figure out.
The camera itself is light weight and easy to pack up and take with me.
I believe that I made a good choice for a beginner. I have learned a lot about video photography with this camera.
