Awesome TV!
Written: Mar 19 '00
Pros:Picture quality, sound, flat screen
Cons:Connectors sometimes hard to get at
I picked up this TV my freshman year of college in the Spring of '99. I got it at a Circuit City (yeah yeah I don't want to hear about it) and paid $700 which included a 3 year warranty. This TV has it all, namely the Superflat screen which has far less curve than a normal TV. A quick tip about buying a TV: look to see how black the blacks are. Turn off the TV and see if the screen looks more grey than black. If you do that with this TV you will see nothing but pure black, and blacker is better.
It has an S-video input (higher quality for video than the standard RCA plug) and great stereo sound. The remote control is intuitive and easy to use. I can't stress enough, the picture quality is PHENOMINAL and is definitely the best picture and overall TV at the price (around $650). I highly recommend that the DVD enthusiast take a look at this TV. It's also great for gamers that want a crisp picture for their gaming.
One small flaw is that the connections on the back are somewhat sunken into the back of the TV and can be a little hard to get at if the TV is in a corner or against a wall.
