| omegabay's Full Review: Hughes Networks D1132 Single LNB DIRECTV System |
My husband and I were having a hard time trying decide between cable and buying a Satellite. We allowed for cable when our home was built, figuring we could go either way when we decided. Thanksgiving we went to visit my family and stayed with my brother. He happened to have a Satellite. We couldn't get over the clarity of the picture, all the channels that were available and how easy it was to "buy" a pay-per-view. We were sold.
We didn't go right out a buy the system though. It wasn't until we were out buying Christmas presents that we finally decided that we would buy a Satellite for ourselves for Christmas. We also decided that would make an excellent Christmas present for our son, he had just bought his first house and was going through the same decision process we did as far as cable vs. satellite.
We bought a single receiver system for our son and a dual receiver system for ourselves. We wanted to be able to enjoy the same channels on our bedroom television.
When it was finally hooked up (we were able to connect it through the cable allowed)we couldn't believe the clarity of the picture. Even when we had cable before we never had the reception that we are getting now. We have "bought" several pay-per-view movies which we love. The cost is the same, sometimes less, that what it used to cost us to rent movies and we don't have to worry about returning them by a certain date or time.
I would highly recommend a Satellite system to anyone. You can generally pay less and receive more of the channels, including premium ones.
