I purchased an echostar 5000 and an echostar 2700 receiver at the same time. I installed the system myself with little difficulty. If you can use a drill, wrench and screwdriver you can install this system. The picture quality and sound quality are great plain out of this world. Until you see it yourself its hard to determine how poor your signal has been. When I received my first signal over the system I was suddenly aware of the absence of all the little noise lines and background fuzz, you will be amazed.

Good:

Bad:
Echostar customer service, System quality.
I am on my third 5000 unit while the 2700 unit has run flawlessly. The first 5000 unit started losing the signal all the time until it finally quit working it took like forever(2 hours) on the phone to get the system exchanged. The second unit decided that it didn't recognize the satellite anymore hurray for the echostar customer service team, this time it only took a few minutes to get this unit exchanged. Good job guys. The third unit is working great.
