No bell

Pros:Not Much
Cons:Customer service

I had gone with various different cellular phone coverages over the time I have had a cell phone. I have had all the usual difficulties with customer services, like having to wait on hold, so I started shopping around to other providers. And I started asking friends about other providers. Well, in talking to people, I discovered who, until they improve their customer service and their price plans, I will never go with. And that is Pacific Bell. My sister is currently stuck with them. To begin with, their approval process and the deposit you have to often put down is outrageous. My sister lucked out in she had good enough credit that they talked to a supervisor and waived her deposit. About two months ago, my sister was waiting for a very important phone call, and her phone went on the blitz. She called the customer service and they said they were having problems with their computers and that they didn't know when service would be up. In the meantime, various phones were getting random messages. When someone called a number they could get a message that said something about busy service, which would be fine, but my sister was one of the unfortunate few whose cell phone message said her phone was disconnected. Now, the person she had given her number to was in regards to a very good opportunity, but there was no way for her to contact this person as they only had her number. So for two days my sister's phone was without service. When they finally reconnected, the best they could do for her was give her a two days credit which came to about $7. I can not believe that with such a big company they could not offer something better. A similar thing had happened with me but with a different, and smaller provider and they gave me a month free. That is what keeps customers. For the meantime my sister is keeping her phone til her contract is out, but she has already begun shopping around to other providers. About the only thing that Pac Bell has to offer her that even mildly interests her are the variety of phones they have and the no roaming...but bad service is enough to make these things seem minor.
