| jasondalton's Full Review: Hitachi 46" Projection Television 46GX01B |
I decided to purchase a big screen t.v. some weeks ago. After doing some research I came to the conclusion to stick with Hitachi. My understanding is that Hitachi "Guns" (scanning guns) and lenses are widely accepted as the best on the market. As silent testimony to that fact is the use of Hitachi Guns and Lenses in JVC and Toshiba products. If Hitachi is good enough for JVC and Toshiba, they're good enough for me...and probably you. The next decision for me was TV format. I just don't feel HDTV is not quite ready main line consumption. And HDTV sets are so darned expensive. By the time HDTV is ready for general consumption, the TV sets will be much cheaper. I decided to stick with analog T.V. so quality counts. The Hitachi 46GX01B has 1000 lines of vertical resolution. DVD only generates 520 lines of resolution and broadcast TV and cable has considerably less so the TV will outperform the inputs source.
Other main factors guiding my purchase were price, warranty, and features. Features this TV has that most folks will want and similar priced units won't have;
High resolution, Screen Protector, Component Video Inputs,Multiple Input connections.
Some perks you might find on this brand; Special factory financing.
I really liked the size too. My living room allows for a maximum viewing distance of 10 feet and is quite small. I feel that any screen much bigger than this would be obnoxious and detract from the decor.
I paid $1399.00 and got the seller to deliver for free and throw in a 3 year extended warranty. This means that the price I paid had some wiggle room. You should be able to negotiate a similar package deal or work the price-point.
