I own this satellite system and i think it is very realiable. Direct tv gives you the best packages and choises out there but if you want a really good sattelite with 32-bit enchachment you have to get the RCA DRD223RD. This sytem is 32-bits so that means it is 4x better in picture than your normal cable tv. On direct tv you get paper views and big events. It is so simple to operate the menus that even a 7 year old child can do it. This satellite system doesn't work in sever wheater. If you live where it's always cloudy and rainy don't bother purchasing this product. The DSS card is also a really good feature because it looks like a credit card and can be taken out at any time. Once the card is taken out the sattelite doesn't work. Good for the parents that ground their childern from watching tv. The direct tv satellite also has a ratting limit which reaches from pg-mature these settings can be changed when you put you 4-digit password in. Blocking off any channels nessesary. I really recomend this service over any other direct tv is the best.
