I was another one caught in the Ronald McDonald donate $20 and get the free phone deal w/ Pac Bell and at first considering it was my first cell phone I was excited. After a few months I started realizing why these phones were being given away and why Pac Bell had these promotions running and commercialized so heavily. I'm one of those people who feel that if I'm going to invest any $$ on a phone that it should work anywhere and everywhere, but Pac Bell sure proved me wrong. In the beginning I only considered the phone as an emergency phone for car failures and etc. Soon I started using the phone in my home quite a lot because my house only has one phone line which is for the fax, phone, and internet. So TRYING to use the phone in my home was when the frustration began. My phone would not only make it almost impossible to make it through one 10 minute conversation w/out being cut off or having to repeat myself like a broken record, but the battery life was insanely short and left me constantly worrying about it dying on me when I needed it most. To make a long story short, I kept the phone and plan way longer than I should and have another now. I would not recommend Pac Bell to anyone because it is sad. To make it worse when I finally cancelled it, the rep. asked me why I was canceling and her comment was "Well these phones were really not made to work in the home", I was thinking, then what for then? Why am I going to pay any $$ for a phone that has such limitations???? Hellooooo???
