Well after reading the reviews from the other people who are writing about this CD player, you probably don't want to buy this head unit. Well, I don't agree with them at all. I have this particular model and I have no complaints at all.
Like the others, I burn my own CD-rs and they have all played in this head unit. Every single one, every single time. (The others might want to examine their CD burner) Not only does it play all my CDs, but it does it with good sound. I admit that at higher levels, the sound becomes a touch distorted, but let's talk about why.
Stereos have a tendency to become distorted at their high end. This is a simple fact that most people don't like, but they can't do anything about. The only solution it to spend outrageous amounts of cash and get a high-end unit. Way too much money for me.
I think that this unit works well for me because I use excellent quality amps that do the work for me. That is the job of an amp, so I let the amp do what is was designed. (Yes, my car does bump enough to feel outside of my car) This unit performs just fine for the price.
The price they reported is strange too. I paid $179 at Best Buy. They installed it for free too. (Well, I did have to pay for the patch, but not for the labor.) So I think they got ripped off of $20. Best Buy also included free speakers. Although not the best speakers, they gave me credit towards better.
So in summery, I think that the price is an excellent value for this unit. Sure there are better units out there, but they are also a lot more expensive. There are also a lot of other units out there that are more expensive and suck compared to this unit.
