RCA VCR Plus VR526

Mar 09 '00

I am going to guess that the VR525 replaces my vcr model VR526. I can't imagine that there would be any great differences, quality or durability. That said.....

I bought my RCA VCR+ Performance Series VR526 in May 1993. Like any major purchase, I researched this one to death. I checked Consumer Reports and Consumer Digest. I checked all types of ads - magazine, newspaper and department store. (This was before I was on the net, or else I would have searched the net.) I asked friends, etc. I made a chart listing pros and cons, prices, features. Seriously, I made a chart. You would have thought I was Sherman storming Atlanta.

Once I finally decided on the RCA VCR+, I then just watched the ads for the lowest price. I can honestly say I am still very happy with my purchase. The VCR+ is very convenient, although I don’t tape as much as I used to. I have never had to have it serviced yet. It fits very nicely on top of my tv and looks nice too. In fact my girlfriend went and got the very same vcr a week or 2 after I purchased mine and she is very pleased with hers. If I had to do it again, I would probably get the same one, or at least an RCA. I do not believe the one I have is a stereo vcr, but I would get stereo if RCA made one w/VCR +.
